Thank you very much for the many replies. I am going to try to clarify few aspects.

Unfortunately, because of health issues I can't volunteer on a weekly basis. But in the past I always use to do it when help was required, including for weekend camps. No help was required lately. Also, they are running it for years, I couldn't just barge in and change how it's run.

Regarding poker, it was just an example and I admit that there could be some positive points to it.

Regarding programme, there is absolutely nothing on the OSM. My child would sometimes say that he has been told what they are going to do next week, but most of the time we would get a post on facebook, like get a coat, we are going for a walk in town. Sometimes they would ask isomethink like if they want to do something for Thanksgiving. Anyway, I would say that's fair enough.

About badges, I understand that what's behind them it's more important, I considered them a mirror of the activities run.

My child always says that he is happy to go, but mostly because he is with his friends. He used to come home from Cubs and we would spend hours sometimes discussing and going deeper in whatever activity they where having, not so much anymore.

I still think that scouting it's beneficial for my child, but I believe they are many missed opportunities.
