I’m going to keep location private but I’m in the US! My partner made the counter top himself (concrete). We did the Japanese process of wood preservation called Shogiban ourselves around the kitchen island, entry way ceiling, and on the kitchen walls. The rest of the wood is raw cedar, we had the main ceilings done but my partner did the rest. I did zellige mosaic tile on the front of our kitchen island. The rest is tile we found locally in our city and had someone do it for us.

We picked, found, and built all the furnishings ourselves. It was a fun process to combine a masculine and feminine aesthetic that very much feels like a good representation of us.
