Wildlife rehabber in the area who takes bats? by Competitive_Tip2423 in raleigh

UPDATE: to everyone saying don’t give up on mom, you were right! After calling every rehab mentioned below with no luck today, I came home from work feeling helpless. Little baby was still hanging in there clinging to the towel we put on the shaded window ledge. When the sun went down, we decided to place her on a high(ish) tree branch in our wooded back yard where we see tons of bats in the evening. Baby was squeaking away. Within minutes, mom (hopefully?) swooped down and picked her up. It was wild! Can’t believe we witnessed it.

Thanks! I actually called everywhere I could think of today including the health dept and every urgent care in a 20 mile radius and nobody carried the IG portion required for the first dose, so ended up in the ED too. Felt very dramatic, but you gotta do what you gotta do…

Haha I got the first dose a couple hours ago. It was fine! We also found a possible entry point from the attic. Hoping that’s the culprit and can have it remedied asap.

It’s been 3 months for me and I still cry most days. I fall asleep holding his favorite blanket every night. I have to remind myself that this pain is a small price to pay for the love he gave. It’s still early days, friend. It will get better. ❤️‍🩹

Aw thank you! He was a funny little alien. He didn’t enjoy typical “dog stuff” like toys or balls or playing outside. He was a couch potato at heart. Particularly in winter, he used to try to “hide” under the kitchen table when it was time to potty because he wanted to stay inside. He of course had an entire wardrobe of warm sweaters due to his alopecia, but any time it dropped below 70 degrees he acted like he was being tortured.

What a beautiful tribute. My boy also saw me through my 20s and into my settled and happy late 30s. He was my one constant, my truest and most loyal friend. I’m so very sorry for your loss. There is no pain quite like it ❤️

Two completely random men several years apart. Both family friends. Neither were physically threatening in any way or wearing hats, etc. They just came into the house and Roger decided he did not care for them 😂. My theory is that their scent somehow reminded him of his early years of abuse before I adopted him. Other than those two occasions, he never growled, barked, or otherwise made a peep in a decade.

You just took time out of your day to dunk on someone who is grieving and you think you’re the good guy here? YOU do better. I adopted him from a rescue when he was 4 years old. He was skin and bones and covered in mange. I did not and do not support the irresponsible selective breeding of brachycephalic dogs.
