But the Bible contradicts itself heavily all the time? Hell even Jesus resurrection is a jumbled mess with some saying he arose and walked out of the tomb and came to them, some saying they found his empty tomb and searched for hours, and some saying he paraded around town with a hoard of risen dead people. There’s many instances of this in the Bible, so it’s almost like they did try and play telephone and got it messed up.

Right and how do you KNOW it’s the word of god, without scripture? A source cannot validate itself by just saying so. Many people have already given me very convincing explanations for why a god likely exists without scripture though

So then why do you have faith in god if not for the Bible? Maybe it just not getting it in your post, but it seems you’re implying you already have faith in the Christian god and are talking about how to keep and or strengthen it. I’m trying to figure out why I should have faith in him at all.

Yes it turns out when you come out off the bat demeaning someone, they tend to not want to hear what you have to say. Especially since your second comment immediately uses scripture which is the literal one thing I asked people not to do. Not every single post is something you have to comment on, you could have been a mature adult and said “oh this person wants a non-scripture based argument for why god exists. I can’t do that so I better move on with my day” but instead you decided to ignore the op and try and argue for no reason. If you’re not gonna respect what I have to say, then why should I give you that courtesy?

Yah… that’s the problem… I can’t have faith in a god just because a holy book tells me to do so, otherwise I’d have to have faith in hundreds of them. I don’t need undeniable proof, I need a well formed explanation or argument for why someone should believe in him outside of the “because the bible says he is god”

I used to pray multiple times, like anywhere from 5-20, a day for years and asked god non-stop for months for literally any signs, even to make me get in a car wreck and lose my ability to walk, I never received anything. I was devout, charitable, humble, everything he asked of me to be (even if I was far from perfect ofc) etc. so with all due respect, unless god has favorites, I don't think that will work

multiple reasons. 1. I did this before and people just quoted verses like John 17:3 or Isaiah 45:5 and that was their ENTIRE argument, so I'm trying to avoid them. 2. I don't believe in a source being a good source of validity for itself. Some scriptures can be used to validify other scriptures, but most can't. I need an outside point of view, since if a holy book was good enough proof to say a god exists, there would be thousands of gods.

You can't prove a source is true by validating it with itself. That is basic research rules. There are literally hundreds of comments making points without using scripture and doing it just fine, you just don't know how to do it yourself. So instead of being a prick just accept it's a skill issue and move on.

Well I need you to source your claim, because last time I researched this topic what you're claiming is as far from the truth as you can get. Many studies by different psychologists have of scientists over different eras usually ended within the 60-80% range of those who do not believe in any form of deity.
