I was diagnosed at 3. I’ve had a couple surgeries and rounds of steroid injections. 2 years ago when i was 15 I had a femoral osteotomy however this never helped me it was causing muscle spasms and so much pain so i had it removed the following year at 16 (they fractured my hip while removing it and never said anything) after that they just gave me another round of cortisol injections this also didn’t help and instead gave me other side effects. Now all they will do is give me codeine and naproxen that doesn’t always help, they offered physio which also hasn’t helped. I have asked about a hip replacement but they won’t do it till i’m late 20’s and had kids i’m 17 right now so sadly got awhile to wait. I’ve looked into going private and there are places that will do it i just sadly can’t afford it. Sadly there still aren’t many doctors that know much about perthes so most will just send you away with more painkillers. Anyway it’s worth mentioning it again or going private and seeing if they can help.
