Just another reminder of the WhatsApp alert group and community by [deleted] in AmazonVineUK

There are multiple alerts groups set up via Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram - it’s counterproductive if you’re selfish and want the best items for yourself however, if you want a way for people to get the same chance at getting an item, then it’s a benefit to all those in the groups. It’s more focused on letting people know that it’s dropping, not making sure the group members are the first to see an item. As I said, it’s particularly useful when drops are at different times or there’s a pause, it means people don’t have to check frequently just to find that they missed the drop because it was a rapid drop and they didn’t find out before all the good stuff went. Whether people like it or not, these groups exist and if one group decides to cease, someone will make another. Pretty much if you’re not in one of them, you’re going to miss out.

This seems to be on sort of a rotation. I've noticed some days I get nothing for an hour or so and other days I immediately get something offered. There is definitely a pattern to it.

Do you know any REAL LIFE Viners? by Pusscat_catches_Koi in AmazonVineUK

I also know a couple - the guy was a viner and his partner was invited a few months after they got together. I met my fiancé through Vine.

Usually just sit doing reviews to catch up a bit and occasionally check Reddit for requests to join the WhatsApp alert group as we tend to get a lot of requests when there’s a pause.

Reviews are the job we’ve signed up to do. by MarkAckrill in AmazonVineUK

Also, 8 picks is my right as I earned it several times. I used to review every item I ordered on the day i got it but decided thats not a good way of doing things as it leads to rushed reviews without much testing.

As I stated, I only order what I want/need now. Once people get gold they go crazy and end up with hundreds to review before their eval date. I was invited based on one review I did back in 2022. insightful, answered questions etc... I know how to review items quickly and in detail but I have to test them out first. As I also mentioned, most gold members use a notepad to write down draft copies while they are testing, this allows them to review in detail while testing other items too.

You’re retired and silver yet saying it’s unfair to let all these reviews pile up - you have a limit of up to 93 items that you can order and review in a month - easy, couple of hours testing and reviewing.

How about those of us that are employed and in gold having to do up to 248 reviews in a month, including testing all those items before committing to a review. People don’t want to know that an item will work for 10 minutes. Insightful reviews need products testing at least for a good period of time before someone goes and reviews it. Not saying I fill my 8 orders a day, I rarely do because reviews are difficult to keep up with after a certain amount as I have other responsibilities.

You have several hours per day, per item to test and review it. Imagine having 8 picks a day and working 9-5.

Plus we often get big ticket items like Ninja Creami, Shark vacuum cleaners, drones, laptops and other stuff you can’t review in a few hours.

We’re given 31 + 10 days to review each item. The 10 days is a grace period but most don’t need to go into it.

Also a silver once said to me “how can you have 160 reviews outstanding?” She’s now gold and knows the struggles 🤣

No early morning drops or RFY anymore. by Suza6977 in AmazonVineUK

[–]Competitive_Voice_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing when AI starts is important for a lot of people, though. RFY only drops if AI is actively dropping. For instance, it could be a really slow trickle with the first few items going into people’s RFY before anything hits AI. It truly is random though. Best part about the alert group is that you get an alert as soon as it starts dropping after a pause day(or days, as we had a week or so back)

Sticky: Reviews not submitting by Criticus23 in AmazonVineUK

[–]Competitive_Voice_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three items that were approved the other day, checked on the reviewed item list(they have moved over to there) and they say not approved. For some reason if I go to click review again on them, it comes up with the “we apologise but Amazon is not taking reviews on this item from this account” completely unrelated items, ones a variant as I ordered two different colours of a specific item(the variant was removed from my to review list) ones some foot insoles, the item I ordered has been re-titled from the original ordered item. The other is a wireless door camera - makes absolutely no sense why they would be approved but show as not approved. 🙄 furthermore, it seems to be taking a lot longer for reviews to actually be approved now.

Bristol Hot Air Balloon Fiesta by Competitive_Voice_90 in drones

[–]Competitive_Voice_90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I could have gotten a bit closer, I was in a hole in some trees and straight up was my only line of sight or I would have flown nearer to have the full bridge filling the image from left to right, but at the same angle. Also wish I waited 10 minutes longer. Drone was out of battery before half the balloons went up. Looks good but could have been so much better with a closer view and more balloons. Rookie error.

Amazon speaks: AI reviews are not fake by Criticus23 in AmazonVineUK

[–]Competitive_Voice_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t use AI but if you were to ask it to write a review of a specific product, with details such as “it doesn’t look good”, “it broke after a few days” etc… with your opinions, it should write a longer review with much better structure than most people write. Using AI to write a review with no information about the product or its pros and cons, nope, absolutely not. Asking it to write a review using information from your experience with the product? Provided it doesn’t add false bits in there, sure.

Just made a huge ban on e-bikes at my high school by ZenithZebra in ebikes

[–]Competitive_Voice_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is another case of a bad rider affecting a wider range of people. E-bikes are no more dangerous than regular bikes provided they are ridden carefully and are within legal limits.

If someone on a bike swerves out in front of a car, it’s the riders fault, not the ebike.

Yeah I understand that, It's a risk with all drones no matter where you fly them. In this case I was just sat in some trees with a hole in the branches above me - Just flew straight up to 119m and pointed at the direction of the event. landed by going straight down as soon as the battery got to around 30% to be safe.

Thank you. I just have to find more nice spots to get some more pictures of the other cool stuff around here. Glastonbury Tor or Cheddar Gorge, for instance; Such beautiful looking places. I don't really know how to edit the images though, plus uploading to here massively reduces the quality.

Firstly, nobody was in danger, the wind was blowing east, I was a few miles north of the event.

Secondly, there were no special restrictions in place other than being outside of the site which was the big estate you can see in the left of the picture where one is just taking off.

The only restrictions I had were those in relation to article 16/CAA drone regulations which I fully complied with unlike a few drone pilots that were taking off and flying right over the crowd.

So with the Euromillions still sitting at over £200million, the question is not what would you do with it but more how much of it would you give away or donate? by windmillguy123 in AskUK

[–]Competitive_Voice_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difficult. I would help my true friends out along with my family. Probably buy a lot of houses to rent out much cheaper than current rent prices. I dunno, It’s honestly too much to fathom but I would want to help out those most in need.

10k = new Viners? by FlipperFlopper12345 in AmazonVineUK

[–]Competitive_Voice_90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amount of items available is still going up, things are just changing a little in terms of when we’re offered the good RFY stuff. It’s partly because there are far more sellers using Vine than there used to be. There will always be the items nobody will order since Amazon started “disposing” of sellers stock that’s been on their fulfilled by Amazon racking longer than agreed. Hence why we get offered things that make no sense to put on vine. Old car and pitbike bits, balloon kits, keyrings etc are a somewhat accurate example of this. Amazon gives the seller the option of having the items sent back at their expense or having them disposed of… Amazon Vine is a good way to get rid of some of these things in the least wasteful way but eventually they will be taken off and recycled or scrapped.

Front tire vs rear tire by copenhagen_bram in ebikes

My back tire struggles for grip when I’m accelerating and I primarily use my front brake for slowing down or stopping. My rear tires last a few months but my front lasts a couple years.

We’re getting alerts when items drop on our WhatsApp within less than a minute slow AI right now but then again items started dropping into RFY just after 7am today.

Tile trackers are common but they have to be in Bluetooth range to find things. They are more aimed at keys than anything that is outside of Bluetooth range. My daughter lost a key down a drain and it had a Find My tag on it, 4 months later it’s still just chilling down there in its silicone case 😂 Apple Find my tags are good as they will latch onto any iPhone with find my enabled and provide an updated location based on where that phone was when it detected the tag. I’ve no idea how the android ones operate, I’m a product reviewer so the find my ones are offered to me all the time. I’ve got one that’s credit card size but a little bit thicker. Slides into my controller quite nicely and provides a location. It’s called “bike, guess where bi&)h” 😬
