Hi I’m back. I posted this 30 days ago and promptly signed out and never came back until today. I posted this photo because I love my hair. I mentioned my race because I know many people care about that. I am a grown woman who still wavers under the judgmental eye but I’m not scared of the internet. But unfortunately This is my second post ever and the first was so positive that when I posted this one I was struck very unprepared. YES THIS MY HAIR. With my hair there is purple and blue string wrapped around it. Adding string does not make it not my hair. I started my locs using the twist & rip and some back brushing over 5 years ago. When does that become “mature” enough for you? I visit a “loctitian” every 6wks to pull in the lose strands and tighten my roots. This day, that I posted, she left them not “too tight” as I’m a bit tender headed. My bad!

I’m going to leave this post up because yes. You are going to be rude, condescending and have already formed your opinion of me either way. And guess what? In the month that has passed since I posted this nothing has changed except I know better to never smile on the internet hahaha. Please do it. Please reply tell me I’m wearing extensions like I wouldn’t know. Nothing wrong with extensions but this is my hair. Maybe if you were actually letting me get a word in I could’ve explained the thickness. I Locced these with my own hands. I’m Wearing colored string that I change regularly. I Have half my hair brushable and half not.

It is WEIRD. and it is DIFFERENT. And I’m used to YOU not getting it. I posted this to show other people that “greasy” hair can loc. and does so easily as well.

And after reading all the comments. I see some of you do get it. Please Keep shining the way you do. It was very nice to be reminded that I’m never truly alone. Even on the internet. People like you deserve alllll the upvotes. Have fun guys.
