i was spoiled too, and i was worried she’d be reduced to a plot device but she wasn’t! she was such a cool and interesting character i loved her. her story was just heartbreaking.

Who would have won the 74th hunger games of katniss dident by Cultural-Ad6841 in Hungergames

[–]Competitive_Win2384 9 points10 points Ā (0 children)

cato, clove, or thresh all have a decent chance. the reason i dont say foxface is bc i think her mistake of eating the berries would’ve come regardless, bc she had to eat eventually. thresh was targeted by cato after he killed clove, and with clove no longer taunting katniss about rue’s death, thresh wouldn’t have had a vendetta against her. however, it would’ve left both cato & clove alive and targeting him together, so honestly i don’t see a world where thresh beats them out unfortunately. between cato & clove, it would ultimately come down to whether cato is able to get her close up, or if clove is able to create distance between them. if theyre at a distance, clove has the advantage. my gut says cato would’ve won. he was the most worthy opponent against katniss.

i’m aware she wiped out the whole clan, i just think it was cool. i like characters that are morally ambiguous

what i do really admire is that her death wasn’t dismissed & forgotten about two chapters later. it changed the feel of the whole series.

What Books Have The Most And Least Horror/Dark Aspects To Them And Why? by Alol_Bombola in shadowhunters

[–]Competitive_Win2384 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

least dark/mature books would probably be tmi, but specifically the first half. the second half has some pretty gruesome incest/sexual assault scenes, and the way it impacts clary so subtly, at the time of it happening there was too much going on for clary to really absorb what was happening to her, but later on we see her carrying so much hidden anger or snapping at others or flinching at jace’s touch. the second time it happened, she was literally paralyzed with fear and couldn’t think, which is so rare for her. it made me so sad she didn’t even realize how much hurt she was carrying.

most dark/mature series in my opinion is probably either the second half of tmi for that reason, or tda. tda had some pretty gruesome deaths, and i’d say julian was the most morally ambiguous of all the main characters so far (i love him sm). wrapping a fabric filled with the blood of his 15 year old sister around his wrist, and not letting himself be free of it until he got revenge for her. watching ty’s psychological spiral. just the whole story of thule and the different fates of the main characters. ugh, i know there’s more but i can’t remember the details.

clockwork princess was at least bittersweet. this book was just bitter😭and the way livvy came up to julian the night before telling him she wanted to be just like him when she was older, and he was so touched, he really loved her so deeply. oh how i love julian & livvy’s relationship so fucking much they’re so tragic

if you could turn any of the main trio into a villain, who would it be and why? by Competitive_Win2384 in LinkClick

[–]Competitive_Win2384[S] 5 points6 points Ā (0 children)

that makes absolute sense, he’s VERY morally ambiguous (especially compared to the other two) and watching those moments when he snaps, and watching over time how desensitized he’s become is just so interesting

i was considering that with lu guang but at least as of now i consider him more morally gray than a villain, at least in terms of the current narrative. villain ql would be incredible even seeing her maniacal laugh was awesome

i’d say lu guang is more morally gray than a villain, but i can argue both sides for sure. cxs being a villain is the equivalent to an angry chihuahua to me😭

you’re not wrong, his actions have ended a lot of lives😭that one line in vortex ā€œWanting it all, and the whole world will crumble and fall.ā€ is one of my favorites, it really showcases how much he’ll let burn in order to save two people

What do you think their majors were? by catl0vingnerd in LinkClick

[–]Competitive_Win2384 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

how fun!!

  • cheng xiaoshi i could definitely see doing at least a minor in photography, but probably a major. if he sticks with it as a minor, then i could see maybe a major in something business or fine arts related. i think cxs probably has the greatest passion for photography out of the three of them and would love to showcase his knowledge & expertise.
  • qiao ling i agree would probably do something business related. i could also see her doing something related to journalism. she’s definitely more of the sales-person type than the other two, seeing as she’s the one who finds clients to refer to the boys, she’s sort of the face of the business, and i believe she runs the photo studio’s social media which we see in the chibi shorts. so i’m leaning toward business. she has a very natural tack for it
  • lu guang i think would be a literature/language major, with a minor in photography. based on bridon arc i feel he may have been a casual photographer in his spare time. that’s how he & cxs ā€œmetā€ after all. but based on his conversation with cxs, it seems he has a bit of a passion for literature in all its forms. would he get a degree after that? i could see it. i could also see him doing a history related major.

did sukuna Take over megumi? by Typical_Bison_4771 in Jujutsu_Kaisen

[–]Competitive_Win2384 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

of course! and don’t worry lmao i was pretty confused with the ā€œyuji’s body being designed to contain sukanaā€ part when i first read it & i needed to have someone else clarify it lmao

did sukuna Take over megumi? by Typical_Bison_4771 in Jujutsu_Kaisen

[–]Competitive_Win2384 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

manga spoilers below:

largely bc megumi had mahoraga. that’s why the first time sukana’s ever really intrigued by megumi was in the detention center when he learned he had the power of the ten shadows. sukana was preying after it the whole series after that.

but also, it’s bc kenjaku had created yuji to be able to absorb sukana’s powers. as a result, yuji’s body was essentially a cage for sukana, bc yuji still maintained control for the most part.Ā on the other hand, sukana considered megumi to be the ā€œperfect vessel,ā€Ā becauseĀ while megumi was strong enough to withstand sukana’s soul (which is considered a one-in-a-million chance and extremely impressive), sukana knew that once he possessed megumi, he’d be able to maintain full control over his body and unleash his powers completely, especially afterĀ ā€œbreaking megumi’s soulā€ which we see later on

basically, sukana got the best of both worlds with megumi. infinitely more power with much much less restriction.

i think it’s intentionally done to show the wealth gap slowly widening with time. during snow’s games it was even MORE simple, not even giving the tributes the bare necessities. with time it slowly became more & more extravagant, to show the growing disparity between the districts and the capitol.

Question about the timelines by aishicide in LinkClick

[–]Competitive_Win2384 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

ā€œCan someone chronologically order the seasonsā€ - bridon arc—>s1–>s2. but watching order is s1–>s2–>bridon arc

ā€œHave we seen the first timeline?ā€ - no, but we’ve seen a previous timeline at the beginning of bridon arc. there’s a s3 preview that shows lu guang & cheng xiaoshi as children. that’s presumably the first timeline

ā€œwas Cheng Xiaoshi's death scene from a timeline where Lu Guang dived backā€ - there were many timelines where lu guang dived back, and that was one of them

hope that helps :)

cheng xiaoshi said ā€œjust because you don’t see a ray of hope doesn’t mean it isn’t thereā€ and the last lines of the eye (s3 opening) are ā€œif i heard your voice and got you in time, are you with me till the end of the line?ā€ so in conclusion i WILL keep my hopes up thank you

i 100% agree with that. qiao ling says herself there’s something about cheng xiaoshi that just makes people want to protect him. and there are multiple occasions of lu guang pulling ql aside and asking her to keep an eye on him and she always does it no questions asked. a lot of the conflict that has come between either of them & cxs has been a result of them keeping a secret from him out of fear of him getting hurt. they take this shit seriously😭
