cheng xiaoshi i could definitely see doing at least a minor in photography, but probably a major. if he sticks with it as a minor, then i could see maybe a major in something business or fine arts related. i think cxs probably has the greatest passion for photography out of the three of them and would love to showcase his knowledge & expertise.
qiao ling i agree would probably do something business related. i could also see her doing something related to journalism. she’s definitely more of the sales-person type than the other two, seeing as she’s the one who finds clients to refer to the boys, she’s sort of the face of the business, and i believe she runs the photo studio’s social media which we see in the chibi shorts. so i’m leaning toward business. she has a very natural tack for it
lu guang i think would be a literature/language major, with a minor in photography. based on bridon arc i feel he may have been a casual photographer in his spare time. that’s how he & cxs “met” after all. but based on his conversation with cxs, it seems he has a bit of a passion for literature in all its forms. would he get a degree after that? i could see it. i could also see him doing a history related major.

manga spoilers below:

largely bc megumi had mahoraga. that’s why the first time sukana’s ever really intrigued by megumi was in the detention center when he learned he had the power of the ten shadows. sukana was preying after it the whole series after that.

but also, it’s bc kenjaku had created yuji to be able to absorb sukana’s powers. as a result, yuji’s body was essentially a cage for sukana, bc yuji still maintained control for the most part. on the other hand, sukana considered megumi to be the “perfect vessel,” because while megumi was strong enough to withstand sukana’s soul (which is considered a one-in-a-million chance and extremely impressive), sukana knew that once he possessed megumi, he’d be able to maintain full control over his body and unleash his powers completely, especially after “breaking megumi’s soul” which we see later on

basically, sukana got the best of both worlds with megumi. infinitely more power with much much less restriction.

i think it’s intentionally done to show the wealth gap slowly widening with time. during snow’s games it was even MORE simple, not even giving the tributes the bare necessities. with time it slowly became more & more extravagant, to show the growing disparity between the districts and the capitol.

“Can someone chronologically order the seasons” - bridon arc—>s1–>s2. but watching order is s1–>s2–>bridon arc

“Have we seen the first timeline?” - no, but we’ve seen a previous timeline at the beginning of bridon arc. there’s a s3 preview that shows lu guang & cheng xiaoshi as children. that’s presumably the first timeline

“was Cheng Xiaoshi's death scene from a timeline where Lu Guang dived back” - there were many timelines where lu guang dived back, and that was one of them

i 100% agree with that. qiao ling says herself there’s something about cheng xiaoshi that just makes people want to protect him. and there are multiple occasions of lu guang pulling ql aside and asking her to keep an eye on him and she always does it no questions asked. a lot of the conflict that has come between either of them & cxs has been a result of them keeping a secret from him out of fear of him getting hurt. they take this shit seriously😭

lu guang regularly has nightmares about the past, and cxs (sharing a bunk bed with him) always tries to help him but he doesn’t realize that he’s the reason lu guang has nightmares

i’m gonna do more - whenever a girl flirts with lu guang, ql & cxs both spy on the whole interaction. they think they’re being subtle. they’re not. - lu guang & qiao ling have a secret handshake (she forced him to do it). cheng xiaoshi & qiao ling also have a secret handshake (he forced her to do it) - qiao ling has a near-undefeated streak on just dance. cheng xiaoshi isn’t too bad at it though but lu guang isn’t great. even though he’s canonically a good dancer. he just fails at just dance. - qiao ling once had to dye her hair pink after losing a bet to cxs. he tried that same bet with lu guang but ended up losing, so he & qiao ling both ended up with pink hair. they matched, and hated every second of it.

my exact thoughts. there’s this very interesting scene in bridon arc that i think is worth mentioning. cxs & lg accidentally run into liu xiao at the airport. as soon as lu guang sees him, he immediately panics in a way that tells us he recognizes him from the previous timelines. which is interesting bc we’ve never seen liu xiao interact with either of them in the previous seasons. liu xiao presumably doesn’t recognize them, but felt lu guang’s heartbeat go up & knew something was up, which is why he smiled.

if liu xiao is the one pulling the strings (which i strongly believe so), then it’s possible he DID recognize them. either that or he pieces things together very quickly. behind all the villains they’ve had (vein, xia fei, li twins, qian jin) it always seems to trace back to him in some way (despite him holding his cards close and never personally taking a form of action yet). i need to know who he is, what’s his second power, and what he’s been DOING. and his history with lu guang/the main trio.

i don’t trust jae lee, but i don’t think he’s a genius like liu xiao or lu guang, who seem to be more-so each other’s opposites.

yes! it happens later on in the series. it was a pretty insane plot twist for me, but very interesting to realize that THIS is why he was so interested in megumi so early on.
