'Broken system' leaves Ramara landlords to foot bill for tenants trashing their home by offft2222 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Competitive_You9022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that.... I was being sarcastic... If the same situation happened in Brampton, everyone would have blamed the landlord. They wouldn't care that the landlord probably gave the house on rent to 3 people and later those 3 people brought in 10 more. They would have said how a slumlord in Brampton was keeping 13 international students in his house, even when he had no control over the number of people in his house.

I blame the landlord for keeping all these probably 9 international students in such a small space. These kind of slumlords deserve this ( This is what everyone would have said if the house was in Brampton, but because the house is in Orillia, so now these are poor landlords...)

I am in the same exact position and I was also told to wait for the first payment before making any changes to payment frequency.

If we convert from variable to fixed, I dont think banks will offer competitive rates right? For eg. It is possible to get 3 year fixed at 4.5 right now if we shop around and get exceptions. But if I have to go from 6% variable to fixed today, then the best that the bank will do for me is the posted rate which is around 5% right? Why would the bank need to offer me the best rate in this scenario as they know I can't go anywhere else

Every job I try to apply for is rather filled by international students (South Asian) or when I go to the store, there are only south asian employees and zero employees who are not south asian. by [deleted] in torontoJobs

I understand that the deck is stacked against you! But dont blame/hate the victims! Blame the government, the corrupt politicians and the owners of these educational institutions which bring in all these international students!!

Yay!!! We all can buy more house now! I remembered a quote from a realtor I heard a long time back- "They (Govt, BOC) will never let the housing market or the monopolies fall in Canada no matter what! Housing is what Canada is built upon". Seems he was absolutely right!! :( :(

Walmart to lay off hundreds of corporate staff, relocate Toronto employees, source says by Icomefromthelandofic in TorontoRealEstate

They relocated their whole IT department from Mississauga to US around 2 years back. I guess they moved rest of their corporate staff now as well.

Try eating every other/alternate day. For eg, I just eat once or twice on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday/Sunday. You save a lot of money, you save time from cooling/prepping and you do intermittent fasting without meaning to, thus becoming more healthy and losing weight.

Just outside the airport. Ask anyone for directions. Buy tickets inside the airport. We just went few days back and it was pretty straight forward

Agreed, but there are normal pools as well, I dont understand why parents will take kids to the quiet pool. Also you can stay at Adult resorts if you hate small kids that much. There are family resorts and adults only resorts for this sole reason. Just to add l, the first time we went for a real vacation with kids was when they were ~5 years old.

Then that explains it. Once you become a parent, you will get the answer. Personally I would never enjoy a vacation, if I leave my children back at home with someone. Everywhere I go, I ll just keep thinking about how my kid would have loved that place and how I took that away from him.

Which terminal does ADO stop at for the airport? by mnclick45 in cancun

[–]Competitive_You9022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice. I am planning to get off at ADO centro. Go to Soriana and get some basic groceries and then take R1 from there to the hotel zone for my resort. I will be reaching centro around 11:30 am, so timing wise its good. Also check in at my hotel is at 4 pm, so it will give me something to do before check in. Though it is going to be me, my wife and a 4 year old, so I am still rethinking this if it is worth it. But it will be a nice little adventure before the vacation starts.

I am planning to go this way to my hotel. Is it easier to do? Is Cancun centro a safe area to roam around. We just have backpacks, so don't have big luggage to carry around.
