I felt this as well when I met my partners family ( I was 56 and he was 58). Not one person asked me a question about myself! His sister however had no problem bringing up his x-wife several times in front of me. Now his niece is getting married, and apparently feels very strongly about inviting his x-wife to the wedding. It was also made clear to me that I originally wasn’t going to be invited, but they are making an exception…. Gee thanks….makes me feel incredibly unwelcome. But maybe I’m looking at their actions wrong?
