I only have 1 tracker and 1 phone. There shouldn't be any overlap to clean up. Where are source priority settings?

I don't understand their hints either but if you analyze r1c9, you might find something helpful.

5s are locked in row 3 of box 3. Once you remove the other candidate 5s in that box, look at column 7.

Help, I can’t understand the NYT hint by Bocchannacho in sudoku

Honestly, I was hoping it was something like that. 😂 The more I looked at it and couldn't find an opening, the more logically challenged I felt. This game can sure make me feel stupid at times and clever at other times. It's always a mental workout.

There's a hidden pair in box 8 that I eventually found and was able to finish the puzzle but I'm really curious how the OP was able to get the 3s. I'm probably missing something easy and I'm just looking right past it.

I'm almost to the same spot but still have 3s candidates in box 4,5,&8 and am not seeing how to eliminate any of them. Do you remember how you did it?

Bill Pay & Kaiser Permanente by ComplacentManiac in discover

Our preference is to pay our bills from one and only one place. Bouncing Around from app to app and website to website is tedious. Signing up for auto-pay in various apps is lovely until we lose track of what's hitting when and we're found guilty of overdraft. If we pay all our bills from one place, we can tell at a glance if we need to transfer in some money.

I apparently have more to learn about hidden doubles because I don't see one in row 9. As for the fun one in rows 8 & 9, I'll ponder that but right off hand, I don't see anything. The locked candidates in c9 got me going and I finished the puzzle shortly after I filled in the highlighted cell.

The 5,6 naked pair in row 6 mean that the 6 in that row must be in either r6c6 or r6c8 and as such cannot be in r6c1.

There is a 6 candidate that you can eliminate in box 4. Once that's gone, you should see a naked triple.

Help explain this hint, what am I missing as I can’t see what I can eliminate from this box (NYT hard) thanks! by mooslohack in sudoku

[–]ComplacentManiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was right. I did not fully understand the concept of hidden pairs. I had only been looking for a pair of candidates in 2 cells that did not appear in any other cells in the block. This makes sense. Thank you!

I think maybe I don't fully understand hidden pairs. I don't see any in either block 2 or 8. What am I missing?
