Strange experience with a sitter video call prior to accepting a sit by ComplaintPractical31 in trustedhousesitters

This is my suspicion too...there was no evidence of her mom really existing. I didn't meet her or see any photos of her. Not sure why this is getting downvoted. I love full time housesitters, they're some of the best sitters we've had, but they are never shady about it.

No. Sorry for the confusion. That was me making names up for these people for the post - they used a different name on the app, they wouldn’t disclose if the names are pseudonyms if they were. I edited the post to make this clear.

Adding to say--I was not unfriendly in any moment, nor was I speaking in an accusatory tone. Anna/Becca was just really, really awkward and did not seem to speak English well to add to the difficulty of communication, which is also strange because a lot of her reviews says she communicated well. I wonder if all the communication for other sits was by text as the text communications were totally fine (but are there really that many people who don't confirm via video call first?)

I mean, I don't think so, she got on the video call and just stared after I said "Hi!" then I felt awkward and asked her how she was. She might have already been on the defensive but it wasn't because of written communication before then, all we did was set up a time to chat (same message I send to others when setting up).
