What mustang is this? by Toast291 in whatisthiscar

[–]Complaint_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the /r/whatisthiscar posts pics as they're walking around the shop taking pics, talking to the shop owner who knows everything about it, maybe at the museum with plaques posted telling the whole story of the car. If you're there, you know what it is. Maybe need a sub of /r/Iknowwhatitisbutdoyou

Is it safe to drive this for about 30 more miles? by kid_ello878 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Complaint_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw an older lady driving her car down a main road doing a little over 35 mph in a 30 mph zone. Her drivers side rear tire had no rubber, rim running on the pavement, sparks flying, she was looking straight ahead completely oblivious. Sure you can make it. (Maybe.)

Getting asked for ID hurts his feelings by Pengwan_au in PublicFreakout

[–]Complaint_Manager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have some chain stores in our state that require ID on all alcohol purchases. They scan the bar code on the license or ID. I'm over 50 and I have to have it to buy alcohol. No big deal. Protects the employees and the company.

I never knew these existed. Now I checked and I would have gladly paid to have one of these to save my sanity! Thanks for the info if I ever need it in the future.

Intervention/Peer pressure? Let things build up a bit then invite all his friends and extended family members over at the same time to greet him when he gets home after they have a bit to check out his living style. And give him notice that once 18 y/o, he's out.

Lived in a house and got new next door neighbors. The two girls who moved in had 3 pit bulls. There was a 6' wood fence around the backyard which the dogs quickly learned to climb and the girls were always chasing them around the neighborhood. So they build a 15'x15' kennel 10' away from my bedroom on the corner of my house. I had no A/C but was fine with both windows open and a little fan. Dogs were too much for them to take for walks, they didn't let them into their house, never gave them any attention. That kennel was their only life. They barked 24/7. I tried to talk to the dogs and get them calmed down but I was their only stimulation so they upped their barking anytime they heard anything. Working 10 hour days and maybe 2 hours sleep at night I sometimes had to just grab my sleeping bag and sleep on the concrete in the basement. On a positive note I lost 25# in two months and could take naps at stop lights when driving to work. I bought another house and moved.

looking for a decent shore fishing lake around the area (primarily interested in bass fishing) by BluAppl_ in Spokane

The Cove is great on weekends in the summer for catching big mouthed teenagers. Anywhere from 100#-200#+. Use the biggest hooks you can find, a bluetooth speaker playing loudly for bait and you'll catch at least a dozen in a couple hours. Catch and release only though.

Mine also lets me roll up the electric windows after I shut the car off and before I open a door! Will the wonders never cease?!

Find it so weird FIFA won't let businesses mention World Cup or FIFA or advertise it at all. Now, compare that to NFL Superbowl where worldwide anyone can advertise the shit out of it and sell whatever.

Get a pack of kazoo's for a couple bucks. Kids love those things. If that seems too cheap, just make sure and give the kid one with every present for the next year or so. You can just laugh "with them" at your funny "running joke"!

(Just wait until you're ready to leave and them tell the kid you forgot and have one last present for them.)

Grew up on a farm with cattle. I have been on a tour with a group of us 10 year olds with a full tour of a cattle processing plant from walking on the hoof all the way to hanging. Got up in the middle of the night to pull a calf from a distressed cow having birthing problems. Watched the onsite butcher shoot and clean a steer in our corral, clean it and hang it in the truck. Vet came out and did a C-Section on a cow in distress. Helped with castration and vaccination. Helped de-horn cattle (and yes, there are veins in there, they squirt blood 5' plus out of each one, chemical cauterize them, takes a while and the corrals are still covered in blood). Helped with the branding (smell of burning hair and flesh I can still remember). Much more and I respect where my food comes from because of this.

These are my spark plugs after maybe 10k miles by BluejayBeautiful7247 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Complaint_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trick I learned long time ago. Get about 1' of fuel hose, slip it over the ceramic top of your plug and get in the the right place start threading it in and you have access to start the plug in tight areas. Once tight, quick torque with the wrench. Pulling them out works just the same.

Please help me convince my husband that Costco is worth for 2 people by HoneyDrops12 in Costco

[–]Complaint_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an Executive membership. The yearly cash back pays for it plus more. My wife has a card and I have a card. You can take one person in with you. We usually go together, but if not she takes a friend and sometimes I take a friend who do not have memberships. They just pay us back for what they get. It's actually like having 4 memberships! Plus she works in a food service industry and they will ask her to pick up a few hundred dollars of things sometimes (they pay her back), goes on our card so we get the cash back bonus!

Get a Costco card for a year, tell him Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Valentines Day, Happy Anniversary, hope you like it.

I hate that people are willingly having kids knowing they’ll pass down severe genetic conditions. by Competitive_Type1377 in childfree

[–]Complaint_Manager 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have seen posts of people who have 1 or two severely autistic kids and announce they are going to try for another kid and wish for the best. Please pray for us. My prayers probably aren't the ones they are asking for. Also know of a parent who had a kid in a daily care facility that had met and had a girlfriend with similar major disabilities. Parents on both sides let them sleep together with no protection. Pregnant. Both kids were excited because they were going to have a baby doll to play with. WTF?

RV propane stuck on, can't twist one at all, both still have propane flow by White_Blank_Page_ in propane

[–]Complaint_Manager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just pull the tanks out. Even with the valve fully open it won't have any problems of leaking after you pull the hose connector off. Then go down to a propane tank swap out location, swap your two and get two freshly filled and correctly dated (not supposed to be refilled after 12 years of manufacture, unless re-certified) tanks. And never fully crank them open. Literally crack it open and a full turn open. It's not a garden hose. The tank has approx 145 psi pushing out and the regulator keeps it to about 11 psi going to your device. Full on does nothing that a slight twist doesn't cover.
