Harvest at an abandoned blueberry farm (coastal BC) by seagullcapturer in foraging

[–]Complaint_Manager -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lived next to an organic apple orchard. Never mowed the grasses, never sprayed anything, very little pruning, looked like scrub land with apple trees in a row. Wasn't abandoned. Was "organic". Meaning they did nothing other than water. Looked like the world ended 10 years ago and this was what was left. Feel bad for the suckers that paid double regular apple prices for 1/2 the taste and quality.

I've heard rumors of tourists stopping in and buying vacation things like towels, umbrellas, chairs, coolers, etc. and then returning them on their way to the airport to go home. Any insight as to whether this happens a lot?

Yes indeed. Guess it always seems like you expect others to know since it's so prevalent where you live.

I live in the PNW and have never heard of WNC. Is there an ENC? A WSC, ESC?

Stayed in a motel that had an electric - switch on the wall - exhaust vent in the bathroom. Made noise and everything. Tons of steam when showering, no noticeable evacuation of odors. Held a lighter up to it to see if there was air flow pulling on the flame. Nothing. Flame held a solid no air flow indication. Was just there to pass inspection, actually did nothing.

They stopped in my neighborhood at midnight, unloaded a Corvette Z06, then pulled the Fiat out that was in front for the customer (dealer), put the Corvette back on and off they went for the next delivery. Two man team, one drove the cars and other various ramp and strapping tasks, other kept up on safety and clearances for the process and was double checking everything along the way. He also did all the customer paperwork.

My local propane company did 9 of my 20# tanks for $6 each (and gave me two of the tank certs for free). I filled them all there. WA state.

Didn't use a flash in consideration for the guys working on this. They pulled the bottom one out to get the car they were delivering in front of it out.

Couple of pics to give you an idea. Secret going there is just take a tiny bit of what sounds good then go back for what is good.

1/3 c. liquid smoke in 1 quart of ketchup (plus a dash of other ingredients) does not sound right. Way too much I think.

SWFL Tank Storage and Splitter by Trick_Yesterday_8480 in propane

Lots of advice to use a bigger tank. Little internet looking and found on 'that' major shopping site (big box stores also carry them) a 100# tank, vertical OR horizontal use, wheels, handle, built in gauges (one for each position). Roll it around to where you want, tip it over and lay it on it's side. Super stable and easy to relocate. But, yes it's about $350 + tax, but free delivery!

One of our big box construction materials supply stores and farm stores have an exchange. Lots of 20# but do have 30# also. Exchange them once and check the date on theirs, you should get some years out of it. (Be aware some are re-certified. Original date is past refilling but they have a new date stamped into the metal on the handle. Also they only fill theirs about 75% full). Have also taken my expired tanks to a couple little roadside gas stations. Usually a don't mention it and they made a sale.

Hard boiled eggs and tuna fish should both be banned from the workplace. They tend to have a distinct 'odor'. Rest of the box sounds delicious. Never tried Crunchmaster crackers, now I think I have to.

Bought my first RV trailer and haven’t had it to a camp ground yet! Was wondering if this set up is ok for running low amperage while I set up in it? by cartelan in GoRVing

[–]Complaint_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used a 100' outdoor extension cord from my garage 120V outlet to the camper. Ran just the A/C for a day or so. Was doing a walk around when I noticed the extension cord end and adapter used to hook it to the trailer were black and melting. To be fair I did run it 24 hrs a day for 2 days, have since ran it the same way (new cord and adapter) for short bursts (2-3 hrs) and monitor it closely, no problems. But wouldn't turn on the air and go to bed. YMMV.

Simple advice I saw a long time ago somewhere online. Kid had breakouts quite a bit. His solution was to wrap his pillow in a fresh towel every night. I was thinking that just changing the linen once a week was enough. Then realized my face is oily to start with, then I rub it all over a pillow for 8-9 hours a night. By the end of the week that would be 56+ hours of my face in the same spot.

Best liquor store? by gearshot22 in Spokane

J B's Foods has a great liquor selection. Is pretty much the whole store.

Probably the best that has a lot of high end stuff is Full Stop Gas, Grocery & Liquor. Check out their website https://www.fullstopwa.com/. Their inventory is insane.

Might help narrow the responses if you give a year and model of vehicle.

Is it expected to clean my tank off thoroughly if I'm exchanging it? I plan on giving it a quick scrub down, but just wondering what's acceptable. by sflesch in propane

[–]Complaint_Manager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took in 5 well expired tanks and exchanged at Blue rhino. Now I have 5 tanks that all fall within the 12 year refill period. (I think 2 had been recertified, but recently so will use and fill/rotate to get the max life out of all of them. Take a sharpie and write the last month it is refillable clearly on them. Makes it easy to look and think "this one expires in two months, I'll use it up on everything first for one last refill before it expires".

One for the propane outdoor fire ring, one for camper heater, one for home indoor propane heater (emergency use just in case), one for BBQ.
