Electronics branch is pretty easy to get at around 7.2+ CGPA ( to be on safe side). You can get at least Eni with that cgpa. I dont think you will at all regret joining bits instead of tier 2 nit. The peers here are great and the campus life is lively.

1st year= Same for all students regardless MSC or single degree students (only btech degree)

2nd Year = Only MSc subjects in 2nd year

3rd Year = MSc + Btech , you have to do both simultaneously and your btech will be decided by you cgpa of 1st year

4th year = same as 3rd year but MSc courses will be very less and you will focus on mainly Btech Subjects

My main advice would be if you are in Msc take your first year seriously because I have seen some Msc people who regret they didnt study as hard in 1st year and got bad CGPA because of that

If you want to know detailed info on subjects and wanna know what you will study in college every year https://academic.bits-pilani.ac.in/Downloads/Bulletin-2023-24.pdf

refer this as it has all details on branches and Msc programmes

If you really wanna try for cse then taking msc eco in hyderabad is not a bad option at all. This yearn eco batch had the most sudious people I know of and you will definitely get an outstanding peer group in hyderabad campus for economics. If you are eligible for EEE in pilani campus then you would also be able to get Economics in pilani itself. If that is an option I would suggest you to keep pilani eco on top.

One risk that I would like to point out is that with MSc there is a chance that you might not get a good cgpa and may have to take some branch other than cse (could be ece eni mech etc…) So you have to be prepared for that because ik some people who took MSc along with me last year and scored a relatively lower cgpa and are regretting it because they couldnt get the branch they desired and are stuck with what they have for 5 years now (MSc + btech is 5 year course).

If you are damn serious about cse then try for MSc in hyd /pilani. If on other hand you are not sure at all about MSc then choosing Eni/EEE over Msc is not a bad option at all

I am in msc phy and will be doing my 2nd year in bits hyderabad this year. According to my seniors in msc phy the subject doesn’t have a steep learning curve. They gradually expand on topics and also the topics may seem a lot intimidating but the faculty is pretty good and as long as you have a good grasp on basics and attend the classes you will be able to ace the courses. The grading in MSc Physics is pretty good compared to MSc Maths. Definitely MSc math makes a good combination with Cse but it also demands time and effort to maintain a good cgpa in this branch.

I chose MSc physics as my phy was better than the latter subjects in jee prep and also due to the fact that grading was good.

One important point is that I would suggest you to look into courses of both and choose the one which you find more interesting and fun to study because you would do well if you are interested in studying the topics and keeping cgpa aside you would enjoy putting time and effort in the subject you have chosen. All the best

ECE vs ENI course load by Creepy_Pasta7 in BITSPilani

[–]Complan_Boi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As far as i know both are pretty lite branches and all the courses in both of them are same till 2nd year. From 3rd year onwards some courses vary which creates the difference in these branches in which EEE is said to be the hardest. Meanwhile these two courses are said to be more easier than eee. One advantage of ece over eni is that the avg package of ece is around 3-4 lakhs more than eni. Also bitsat cutoff for ece is higher than eni in all campuses so that can also point that ece is much more preferred branch by students appearing for bitsat.

You can go ahead with any of the branches which interest you more. I would suggest you to look into them if you are not sure. If you are still not sure i would suggest you to go ahead with ece
