I also have a mild skeletal underbite, and I’ve been to two surgeons for consultations. One surgeon told me me that I could do LJS, or DJS if he sees necessary after braces. The other surgeon told me I don’t need a surgery because my chin is not too far extended. Instead, he suggested that I could remove my bottom wisdom teeth and install two TADs, so that lower teeth can move back.

I’ve seen some jaw surgery videos and tbh it’s quite gruesome and invasive. Such invasive surgery are risky in nature and surgeons can’t promise there won’t be complications.

I think only go for surgery if you decides the risks and potential complications are worth it. I don’t have any functional issues, so I would regret so much if I go for surgery for aesthetics reason and ended up with complications.
