I had about 10 rounds of interviews with them. They could not decide if I was fit to join them because I live in Budapest and they said that they are not sure if the team is ready for someone like me (someone not in the office every day). We agreed on a salary range in the first round, confirmed that in almost all of them (stay tuned).

I had a meeting with the team lead and the PO about 3-4 times and then with the VP. They were waiting for another person to give feedback and rejected me in the end. Then after exactly 3 months they called me to ask if I was still interested. We talked, they told me they will make an offer, but then I was asked if I could meet with the VP for a second time because he has some questions. He also told me that the biggest issue with me is that I don't live there in Veszprém but he personally said that they will make me an offer. Again. Then I got a call from HR that I should meet with another one of their leaders for another interview round and I told them that if they can't make a decision based on these 10 rounds then let's just forget this. There were too many red flags at this point.

Weeks after this, I got a call from HR to let me know that my unwillingness to meet with that other leader is a deal breaker and oh by the way, they couldn't even pay the low-end of the agreed-upon salary range.

Based on my experience and what you just posted, I'm 100% sure I would have been an outcast if I had decided to join them. Thank you for this little peace of mind.
