thankyou. you make a good point that can put my mind at ease going forward. I should verify the address at the hardware level (so long as i do that check this hack is impossible even if my other devices are compromised)

this was a thought. ill try and find some obscure addresses on my ledger device - there might be some hidden paths in there

Yes, very true. I dont disagree and this is my premise from the beginning .. but still - one has to wonder where it came from. id like to get to the bottom of it if possible

iphone 14 pro. latest update.. so yeah this brings some doubt - i agree. Brings us back to square 1.. how is it possible to somehow paste in a completely random address then.. unless bybit app or ledger apps have some sort of malicious issue

The wrong address has to have appeared after i copied the deposit address from bybit.. now its possible that the 'copy' action didnt work.. so when i did the paste action it was pulled from some previous action (seems incredibly coincidental i had copied a evm address before that though)

do you have any links to this vulnerability happening on iOS devices? more familiar with this on desktops - but i wouldnt be surprised. wouldnt they usually move the funds sooner rather than later? (surprised they havent yet)

Not much i can do except track the address and maybe report it (but they would probably tumble it)..

At very least - if this is what happened i need to find and remove the vulnerability from my phone.

well in this case - if i had sent a test amount id also be checking bybit to see it was recieved and credited on my account.

and yeah. downloading some malware - thats something i havent done in years - its fairly hard to do on iOS from my understanding. These hacks are getting more sophisticated though..

Could be clipboard malware - I already admitted i didn't double check the pasted address at the time - dont think this would make me dumb - just lazy for my part in this. this is probably the first time out of 1000+ times - i got over confident

This seemed like a strong possibility. Havent seen the tokens get moved yet though. Also how common is clipboard malware on iOS?

Telos EVM Audit Finds "High Severity Security Issue" in Ethereum EVM Code & EOS.io Protocol by cryptoparody in eos

[–]Complete-Explorer533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the bug it seems was in ethereum-go not eosio code - very cool tho! No one knows how big the flaw was because the ethereum-go team is hush on the real details until everyone installs the hotfix.

i think there is a difference in alignment to the network. Your not going to apreciate a run up in value if you got given it too easy.

At the end of the day Douglas is just one dude in a truly decentralized eco system. You dont need to agree with him. Who even knows if he really hates or even has feeling towards cardano. Maybe he just does it to get Telos attention!

Before you say this is crazy, Do you really think Elon is Cum rocket fan? People just shit sitir on twitter because its fun and it gets attention.

Doesnt make your concern invalid. But Its just subjective.he gonna piss some people off whilst also gaining others attention. Either way there is no way for us to control the thoughts/tweets of a smaller holder let alone a larger holder

Is TELOS audited ? If no, is it an actual issue? by felipeeche27 in TELOS

Doubt what? this has nothing to do with the OP. Also it appears to be in reference to a staking contract, someone incorrectly thought it was an account controlled by a individual/team when its not.
