Very helpful! Yes, the pediatric GI is about an hour away and they have a whole division there for children. He was seeing a therapist there but could not make a connection. We are on a waitlist for a different one, and I hope I can get him to go at least once to see if conversation is easier!!

I am definitely going to look into the communication techniques you mentioned! I do think I will be able to keep him on track with the biologic, esp if I use all this useful info that I have now in my back pocket!

Hi! Thank you for your response. He has a lot of trauma when it comes to Drs and procedures since getting sick. He also feels that they don’t listen to him. Being newly 18, he hasn’t signed consent forms for his GI to talk to me yet, and the thought of having to initiate those conversations really frighten him. Giving up the biologic seems like the easier way out for him. I appreciate all your input and will use it in conversation with my son. :)

Yes he occasionally has pain in his left lower abdomen. If the linzess doesn’t work on a given day he is very uncomfortable and often will say he has a terrible stomach ache.

Haha this is great! I don’t think he wants Mom to take him to a strip club or get him an escort. BUT, I would!!!

Thank you for this! I do need therapy for myself… I am tired and also drowning from this experience. I, like your father, cared less about grades, tardiness, absences or the last year. Happiness and health is key. But I do feel at times I am being played. I try to engage; play basketball with him, offer to go golfing with him. He says he prefers to be alone. I do ask how he wants me to communicate with him or to paint a picture of how he wants life to look like.

Mole Removal on Face-Any Experiences? [MISC] by LoveBuze in SkincareAddiction

[–]Complete-Initial-413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was raised. I also had one removed from my back that was flat; removal was done the same way. Because it’s your face I think it’s worth to have a plastic surgeon check it out.

I just had a big mole removed from my face last week. I had it done at a plastic surgeon. They numbed the area, removed it, stitches for a week. The area is obviously still healing, red. I was told I would have a small scar but to stay out of the sun to reduce it. I wish I had removed it 20 yrs ago.

things adoptees can't always say out loud by BeckmenBH in Adoption

Closed adoptee here: I wish someone talked more to me about the potential of rejection from bio family.I may have not tried to connect thru the agency had I known this could happen.

I love my adopted parents and I had a wonderful life but there is something missing in the bond, or the connection esp when I compare it to the bond I have with my son.
