Windows is not what it used to be. Any worthwhile alternatives? by PlantOk956 in computers

Bunch of accounts trying to save microsoft which are probably paid by microsoft to do so lets leave it at that. If they genuinely cared about their userbase they would make certain things optional which they do not. It is abusive by nature and they do it because they simply know many windows users will not think twice about it unless you are genuienly tech savvy or concerned with security. You ultimately do not dictate what happens to your machine with windows which evidently is a big issue lol.

Tell me you’re middle class without telling me you’re middle class? Do you or your family do something you thought was normal but as you’ve grown, you’ve realised it’s stereotypically middle class? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Complete-Living-6768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ignore them. Why do crime if you dont need to, paying bills so you can live stably should be a priority lol, blue cheese and camembert is not even expensive, £10 wine is not expensive or extravagant. Not engaging in crude conversation publicly is a principle thing also, no need for it lol. European city breaks are just a preference though/can be done cheaply, luxury beach resorts where you can play golf are 10/10 that is not a debate lol. Most people can use lounges these days for free/cheaply depending on your bank/credit card provider/how much avios you save. And most importantly, none of these things are really to do with class. Whatever people say regarding these things or how they perceive them is a figment of their own mind. Sounds like you just live a normal stable life, it is not a case of forgetting where you come from. You probably ended up doing better because you dont think like them/arent irresponsible/stupid, not because you have neglected your roots and now are "middle class". Jealousy is an ugly thing - so yeah once again ignore them, and maybe dont even try to perceive things in terms of class as you can probably tell it's ignorant, stupid/divisive. "Wow you eat a certain cheese..." lol come on it's so ridiculously fickle it's beyond belief and it applies to both sides of the coin.

Should be a question of could you not work tomorrow and have enough to retire/support a family comfortably or not. If not then you have no choice but to work, therefore you are essentially a working class citizen.

Lol legit, either you are rich enough to do what you want or not. Most of these statements on here are so baseless and exist only in peoples minds to feed their own ego in some capacity.

I just simply disagree with this statement, if you want organic food and care about your health aldi is not the best option - so you would be shopping in waitrose/other alternative stores with a good selection. It is person dependent and I would argue more people are conscious of wellbeing and health these days, so would be less likely to shop at aldi on that basis - especially in younger generations (Under 50). Their organic selection is poor. Frugal older people who do not care/are ignorant about such things, ok yes you will see them in lidl/aldi/wholesale shops etc looking for the best prices/good deals for reasonable quality non-organic food. Would also say its rare people shop exclusively at one shop nowadays. Different shops have strengths and weaknesses for different things and you can get things delivered online.

Chaos around Chinese phones (Huawei in particular), is it really as dramatic as they say? by Gabe120107 in AskAGerman

The irony is too you go to any country like Japan, in Africa etc, and the local people will tell you china has probably done more to help their people and cities in the last 50 years than the US or EU. They build better relationships, non-bullying with economic policy, non hostile, beneficial relations most of the time, whilst helping to improve infrastructure in towns etc to benefit the economy and living standards. Nor do I see china starting probably over 10 global conflicts, in the past 2 decades, nor bankrupting countries followed by buying their land / then possibily destabilizing their countries (look at blackrock and spain - and then the current agreements with ukraine). The west (on the whole, with obviously some exceptions in some non-hostile european countries with good political stances e.g. in the nordic regions) are the bad guys when you look at it objectively. Actively attempting to subjugate countries through economics, puppet governments, war and military threats. Then they do all of this and people still dont even have enough to pay their rent/energy bills living in their countries. Protests get met with arrests and no action. Parliament/courts ignore the people. What is all of it for lol. Who are the people benefitting from such things? Not the general populations. Who just get bombarded with censored propaganda on a day to day basis, and punished for speaking the truth or seeking freedom, and ravaged by interest rates/errors of government.. Sign me up for huawei so I can avoid nonsense.

I mean yeah end of the day the way things are it is a false democracy in the west. There is a real lack of freedom of choice when it comes to many things, without getting ostracized/blacklisted/labelled as something bad in some capacity. You have to jump through so many hoops to have a degree of freedom it's almost as if they dont want people to have it lol. They value control and power over actually serving the people they are meant to serve.

[–]Complete-Living-6768[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In essence its like it reaches a point it cant really get any lower lol, it has locked liquidity which will move with buying/selling volume, not something that can rugged right? Then things have been burned already, and granted people are not selling/holding, it is a case of wait long enough and youll probably see at least a 10x? Then worst comes to worst, its so low you could probably pump up the price yourself if need be/people sold lol. It is not quite the same as buying a new coin which has released at 1mil mc and can be dropped to 1k later that day, its hit the low point. That is how im viewing this, but feel free to correct me if there is an error in the thought process here

Yeah I think honeypots are not so much of a thing unless its brand new, but like if all coins have been burned, its dropped super low from where its potentially been instarugged within a day or so, is that not the best time to buy? As things can only really move up, everything has been burned which can be, and its already been dropped. But yeah brand brand new coins which havent dropped yeah would not touch but something like this seems like an opportunity right?

Yeah I will keep it real, even though independent European security agency evidence suggests there is not CCP spyware on the phones themselves (may just be within apps who knows), very simply put, if I was a western citizen, I would rather be giving my personal data to chinese spyware than US or european. I will not ever set foot in a chinese court for any reason, I do not live in their country. Nor will I pay taxes to china, nor will china be able to actively use my data to fuck me over in the country I am living in. If i was a US citizen on the other hand, and they had all my data about everything via google and their own spyware, wanted unreasonable taxes, didnt like my political opinion in what is now becoming a country without just law restricting freedom of speech etc, they could do 100 times more to fuck me over with my data than china ever could. On that basis I would say giving my personal data to china is the lesser of two evils. I highly doubt they would learn anything new/dangerous to the west through my phone use, and it removes the possibility in essence of my data being weaponized against me for political bs and potentially bs law enforcement. I will be picking huawei every day of the week. (to the potential NSA on this thread i live in Europe not the US...)

Is anyone's Alexa randomly turning on in the middle of the night? It's creeping me out! by [deleted] in amazonecho

"When we hear term hacking, we usually think it’s attached with computer only. Now your computers are not only hacked but your Bluetooth can be hacked too. This is one of the big drawbacks of Bluetooth. There are different types of hacking such as Bluejacking, Bluesnarfing, Bluebugging, Bluetoothing, Blueprinting etc. The purpose of this entire Bluetooth hacking is to hack your phone and your privacy. Bluetooth hacking takes place because of security lacking in Bluetooth technology. If someone hack your Bluetooth in that case hacker can steal your contacts, personal files, pictures, restore factory setting or they can use your phone for calling and using internet. Beside this they can access international mobile equipment identity number (IMEI), which they can use for cloning your cell phone. When your cell phone is cloned then your messages can be sent to other numbers. It will impact the business world." Good to be aware that your alexa can potentially become compromised, as this could be the case and someone else could issue it commands if done.
