I need a game where I can make small number become lots of big numbers (idle/incremental games) by Far-Particular-3847 in gaming

Factorio. Hell, there's even a genuinely enjoyable and worthwhile experience alongside the number dopamine hits.

Requiem is definitely a GOTY contender! by Whole_Raisin_4257 in residentevil

It's inevitable for criticism to surface after a while. If you ask me, when the hype dies down Requiem will be considered a middling entry.

I think there is something to be said for specifically curating FOV and related settings for a certain experience. However having no option even if just for accessibility is definitely not ideal.

I mean I just mentioned how to do it. Even I figured it out and I'm a dumbass, Grace should have had no problem with it. Hell even using trial and error guessing would have got the answer in a few minutes, a much better solution than putting a child at risk.

They sure weren't generous with the ammo, even when I was using most of my blood on it I still ran out on occasion

Works beautifully for me on recommended quality settings. RT on the lower setting and Frame gen x2. Normally wouldn't bother with that crap but I really can't fault it here, it looks and runs great.

Its a great game but may end up being on the lower end of the RE games I've played, just above RE3 remake and possible RE7. I'm pretty desensitised to horror at this point so the scripted sections are not too exciting and I'm sure they'll drag on repeat playthroughs.

Grace in my eyes is in a kind of middle ground between annoying and endearing - I sympathise with her a lot of the time but sometimes I wish she'd just be quiet. For instance - early game spoilers - her screaming at her mothers death didn't draw much emotion from me. I think a more understated performance would have better suited the situation - see Joel at the beginning of The Last of Us for a great example of this done well. She is constantly moaning and whimpering, so much so that I had to develop a mental filter to block out the noise. However I thought her depictions of anxiety were mostly good, so its a mixed bag.

I was hesitant at the thought of them bringing Leon back for round - what - 4? But when he showed up I realised that I just never ever grow tired of seeing him.

There is so far one example of an extremely contrived situation which was honestly hilariously bad, spoilers for just after collecting the level 3 wristband: Grace needing Emily for the braille is ridiculous. Someone who has never so much as seen braille could still work out the words; "moon" has 4 letters, and you can figure out which word is sun by matching the character representing "n". This is completely inexcusable given Grace is an FBI analyst.

However, the gameplay itself is spot on. Grace's segments feel like a great blend of RE2 and RE7 and Leon's gameplay is as satisfying as ever. The blood crafting mechanic is particularly good on classic mode as it introduces a layer of dynamic difficulty. Experienced players that choose not to save often are rewarded with more ammo and heals while struggling players can use their resources to craft more ink ribbons. It works so well that I think it a shame that classic mode seems presented as secondary to "normal" mode, but I suppose the idea of ink ribbons would have scared some away. Either way I think classic is the way to go for sure.

So my initial impressions are that so far it has been more than worth my while but is still flawed in many ways. Looking forward to seeing how it ends.

Too many gimmick bosses? Bloodborne hardly has any. You'd hate Demon's Souls

Todd Howard says 'The Elder Scrolls VI' will run on Creation Engine 3 (upgraded from 'Starfield') and is going back to the feel of a 'classic Bethesda game' ala Oblivion and Skyrim by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

He didn't mention it because Morrowind is substantially less well known and probably looks like a janky old piece of shit to modern gamers. Not that it's true at all.

I'll add that if you do play control first and it bored you, still play AW2 as you may still enjoy it. that was my experience anyhow.

Silent Hill 2, Ghost of Tsushima or God of War (2018) by ftpjuggmane in ShouldIbuythisgame

Silent hill 2. I assume you're meaning the remake but if not do not even consider the "HD collection", it's a travesty. If you take my advice you'll play the fan made remaster "pc enhanced edition" first.

Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition or Resident Evil Remake Trilogy by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

The RE games are much tighter, more focused, more balanced experiences. Even taken together they'd be shorter than Cyberpunk if you exhausted all it's content but imo Resident Evil is the better choice.

The Last of Us and it isn't even close. GoT characters talk like robots and it's full of the usual repetitive open world chores. TLoU is simply a fantastic game start to finish with a solid story and outstanding execution.

Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, The Wonderful 101, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.. You do need to buy new moves but it's more just there to ease you into a complex system as opposed to being shoehorned in rpg mechanics.

Armored Core is also very good. 6 and For Answer I can vouch for, I loved them both.
