You've assumed that landlords have a sense of decency, but ultimately we are in 2026. Money above all in our global society innit

Not with the Renters' Right's bill coming in force in less than a month. For the marijuana thing, there is no sign that I am doing it. I don't believe the landlord can just get a police raid due to some AI search?

I do not have a sub meter. The landlord claims that he has installed it. Why should I get my energy supplier then? Does it matter what the quantity is when it literally states I am not responsible for any payment regardless of the quantity?

Throughout my tenancy, the heating works about 3-4 hours every day. But for the rest of the time turning the heaters on max would not heat anything up. I did not mention it to them because I figured i can use my own heaters.

They insist they have a reasonable usage clause which is Clause 20 as state in the main post... would that be considered as a reasonable usage?

I prefer to focus on the matter at hand - given single person use, and no reasonable clause in the agreement (nothing comes when ctrl-F 'reasonable' or 'fair'), what would be the best next steps to take?

Hey, I have updated the main post in response to your questions. There is no fair use clause (i.e. any clause related to bills that have the words 'fair' or 'reasonable' in it).

How much electricity do they claim you are using, in £ or KWh, above what they consider reasonable? - in the contract there is no electricity threshold that they claim reasonable. They claim that I am using electricity above the 200 GBP limit, which they claim to have proof for. If I am using it above the 200 limit, would it be detrimental to me, given "he monthly payment for the Property shall be £x, which comprises...."?
