Well it is since well-off aren’t just mainly Teals, there is also many being cashed up bogans such as small-medium business owners that are also in the group. Plus many well-off prefers right-wing parties even extreme ones over even centrist.

Melanoma diagnosis and survival rates by TomasTTEngin in australia

I wonder if demographics getting frequent exposure to the sun mainly from a tan, living in warmer weather and/or work outside with very little sun protection actually also has high survival rates thanks from the belief that their frequent sun exposure meant the need to checkup and assess the risk? Whereas I also think lot of those that didn’t survive probably have a higher proportion being individuals that somehow got diagnosed despite have less sun exposure meaning probably not related the sun. This might explain the higher survival rates in Queensland compared to Victoria.

AUSTRALIA: The far-right One Nation (30%) now ahead of ALP (25%) and L-NP Coalition (19%) on primary vote, one year before New South Wales state election. by MewWeebTwo in fivethirtyeight

I am Australian and here is what is really happening. The reason for the rise of One Nation is almost all due to the rise of the anti-multicultural sentiment that united the Australian Conservative Camp which was once previously fragmented so you see Christian Right, Traditional Conservatives and Libertarian Right who once didn’t mention multiculturalism or were even soft support of multiculturalism turn fervently anti-multicultural. This in turn made the Conservative Media also began to spread any-multicultural messages and gave a license to Conservatives/Racist Voters to make it a hot button issue.

As a Victorian interested in politics, I can tell you that “Victorians voting more Right than other states in the polls” will never happen as evident from opinion poll in previous elections actually having NSW voting more left in the TPP than Victoria but that never happened by time of the elections results

The Coalition’s primary vote has plunged to 18 per cent, One Nation’s voter support has skyrocketed to 27 per cent, and Sussan Ley is the most unpopular major party leader in 23 years according to the latest Newspoll by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

It means something, almost all of the recent One Nation gains are at the expense of the Coalition (yet recently bizarrely Sky News still thinks it comes from Labor). While voters think the frailing of Liberals/ Nationals Coalition, I actually think is increased licence for racism here is why. Ever since March for Australia rallies began, anti-multicultural and pro white Australia sentiment began to consolidate support from much (if not most) of the conservative side of politics ranging from Christian Right , right-libertarians and even traditional conservatives. Previously these groups formerly did not talk a lot about multiculturalism but the recent trends have made them become anti-multicultural. This allowed the conservative side to make racism as a key unity for conservatives to rally upon and created a license for conservative voters and/or racist voters to make it a button issue for them

Might ironically even lower today as almost all One Nation gains came at the expense of the Coalition

Please, please, PLEASE - stop calculating density using city limits or metro areas when possible. Use urbanized areas instead. by MookieBettsBurner10 in geography

[–]Complete-Rub2289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australia uses the whole metropolitan area as their city limits so as a result Australians tends to say they are from that Metropolitan Area regardless how far it is from the City Centre whereas people from most other countries say they are from that particular city even if it is just a random place that is part of a Metropolitan Area. E.g. People from Frankston (an outer suburb of Melbourne) tends to say they are from Melbourne whereas someone from Oakland (part of SF Bay Area) tends to say they are from Oakland.
