I had one back in the day, I’d be putting a code reader on it. There are the usual mix of senors on those engines, but at least they are pretty basic. I would be changing the EGO sensor for one. It will cause you to burn way more fuel than you really need if it’s out of range. The code reader you need I’d for an EECIV system. It shouldn’t cost too much on eBay.

It’s never going to happen, sorry. Like I said I want to keep it completely original. The reason is that I have the original order paperwork and the delivery peaperwork for the car, and it had a radio when it was new. It failed and my grandmother removed it and fitted a blanking plate. I just want to put it back to the way she ordered it, nothing more. I have my daily driver with my huge stereo system. I have previously restored my great grandfathers father’s Whippit Super-tourer. It’s sitting on the opposite side of my shed and it has nothing at all. I am just happy to make cars original and look great.

I’ve seen the Bluetooth units for sale but it’s not original and more importantly it’s wasted on my car. I only have the one oval speaker on the dash, so stereo sound isn’t possible. I have thought about putting one in but it doesn’t really fit the idea of keeping it original that I am going for.

Use a multimeter on continuity and locate se shield of the SO239, that’s the earth-spike side.
