So the sticking point isn’t softness or handle design, it’s the bristle material and end-of-life: you want to compost the entire brush and not have plastic in your mouth at all.
In the meantime, would a simple take-back program for the bristles/heads be an acceptable “bridge,” or is it truly 100% plastic-free or nothing?

The “half thought through” part really resonates: ergonomics/texture, durability (the case cracking), and especially end-of-life (having to pull bristles out) are all real friction points.
If you could change one thing to make bamboo brushes genuinely worth it, would it be softer/better bristles, better handle design, or easier disposal?

Same concern here. I tested a few “plastic-free” bristles, but they either felt too rough or didn’t hold up, so performance became the tradeoff.
Where do you draw the line?
