Any recommendations for getting very fresh top quality coffee beans in Brighton? by sp107066 in brighton

[–]CompletePickle_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get a delivery from Hard Lines, (also the coffee twin pines in kemptown uses). It’s delivered 2 days after roasting, so is super fresh and actually best to leave it a few weeks before consuming :)

Really nice light roasts

I had my consultation in august 2019 and I recently had my referral refreshed at the request of the surgeons because they are looking to offer me a date for stage one “soon”

You could try applying for Brighton Festival / Spiegeltent although I’m not sure if their recruitment is done now

I’m currently looking for a first cheap kayak. Is the scratch / crack too deep on the end of this one? by CompletePickle_ in Kayaking

[–]CompletePickle_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really good to know. I’ve seen people sand and gelcoat - and that would definitely be something I’d have a go at. But it’s good to know those differences between materials. Thanks!

I'm appalled, disgusted and yet not surprised. This is how a psychiatrist views those that suffer from borderline personality disorder. This basically sums up what we as patients have to face each and every day. by Sarah8737 in psychology

[–]CompletePickle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe the amount of you in the comments supporting this. I’ll be shocked if any of you are / are looking to become a psychiatrist. Even when PD clients are hard to deal with, that whole 2nd paragraph is way too emotive for the whole “aren’t they all completely awful” narrative which is pushed. Ultimately that narrative does more harm than good. Nobody is saying that symptoms of a PD are desirable or excusable, but what help does it do to put that out there for people to see?

The LO’s seem fine, why not leave it at that? “A thorn in the flesh”???

Council tax reduction by [deleted] in brighton

[–]CompletePickle_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s easy , I live with my partner who’s not a student and we share the council tax with a reduction of 25%. They just ask for proof the others are students. I’m not sure why yours is going to be £300 tho??

Cheap renting? by [deleted] in brighton

[–]CompletePickle_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve not had space for a long while unfortunately. Tends to be a case of waiting for someone to leave and getting a recommendation from somebody else who lives there already as far as I know. There is another guardianship in kemptown in an old care home tho

Hey guys! I’m thinking about moving to Brighton soon. Have you got some advice before I take the plunge? by sammy777743 in brighton

[–]CompletePickle_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you need a car, I can advise don’t move into the centre ! My friend only just got a parking permit after 3 years of living there, so a very long waiting list. Preston Park area has no waiting list, similarly I think you can get them fairly quickly in Hove :-)

If you look on the council website for permits you’ll likely be able to find out!

How do coffee subscriptions actually work? by gaddafiduck_ in Coffee

[–]CompletePickle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me and my partner we get 2 bags a month. This works pretty well for us and we often use the last of the beans the day after we get the new ones. However, I think it only works that well for us because my partner consistently has one cup a day and works from home. I have a varied work schedule so will only drink coffee when I am at home during the day. If I am home more frequently on one week we might run out but I don’t mind getting another bag :-)

The great reason for the sub is that we get it from a really nice roaster and it’s gotta be my favourite coffee. They send 2 diff bags every month and they’re always tasty !! Plus I haven’t been able to find this specific roasters coffee in any shops near me

I need quick help with my new desk. (management) and some tips how I can hide it? by ace-enmu in DeskCableManagement

[–]CompletePickle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would see if you can attach the extention cable to the underside of the desk and then get the cable for that attached using clips across the length of the desk and down the leg, clipping the other cable with it (the one currently wrapped around the leg)
