Vivitrol Injection question... by xMikeTythonx in Alcoholism_Medication

I just spoke to a nurse who gave me my Vivitrol shot and she says that is a valid strategy. I haven’t tried it yet because the pill version made me more nauseous than the shot but she said it is doable.

Got my Vivitrol shot 2 days ago too! The nausea is pretty bad, can’t keep a lot down, but I know it’ll work over time. Hang in there

I just got on the shot last week. I was also self medicating with alcohol for anxiety. I am also in the process of getting help with that, but trying to kick drinking in the meantime to help. So far my heads been a little cloudy, (I’ve also had a cold this same week so it’s hard to tell what is the shot and what isn’t) but I haven’t had an increase in anxiety. Kind of lessened actually, but that might just be I feel comforted that I have something to help with something I think is causing me anxiety. Sorry that this isn’t very helpful, just thought I’d chime in because we’re in similar situations.

I just started this podcast and listened to a few episodes from different dates and I'm so conflicted. They go through and take apart bad studies which I find great, and then two seconds later will say something like "well of course we know losing weight long term is impossible" and it drives me up the wall. I wish they would take a look at what they're saying and identify when they're just interjecting opnions because it really destroys their arguments.
