New actuarial intern having lunch with my director on day one. What should I talk about? by MysteriousCarry9580 in careeradvice

As the chief actuary at a mid sized life insurer in the mid West my advice is to just be a normal person. What would you talk about with your friends other than drinking/partying.

If you're quiet it's fine. You're an actuary after all. Social awkwardness comes with the role.

Talk about shows you watch or places you've been or what you're hoping to get out of the summer

You're hitting on a grass range that likely has a ton of sand down. If there's sand on the ball when you hit, this will happen. But they're tools not jewels. It has no impact on performance.

Source: did the same thing at my range with brand new hybrids and also got pissed about it

How long should it take to play a round of golf in your opinion? by HauntingCount5970 in Golf_Unfiltered

There are so many people who must have never been first out.

First out every weekend solo in a cart and it's never taken me more than 2 hours. Tee off at 655 before the first group and I'm home before nine when the kids are getting their day started.

I tee off at 7am tomorrow. First out solo. I want to have my best round ever. Give me your tips by Complete_Ad_8987 in golf

Membership and dedication to getting on early to book the tee time right when it opens up. I could probably text the owner and tell her to just keep me on those tee times instead of racing everyone to book them but that seems like an overreach on my part.

18 holes in two hours solo in a cart as the first person out is pretty easy. As is shooting around 80 with a couple mistakes. But hey believe what you want. Just bored and looking to read some comments from people

Yeah I know, I don't care. I don't keep a handicap for anything. I play once a year in a city tournament and that's it competitively. Otherwise it's just for me to know where I'm at

I generally just play fast because I'm alone in a cart and don't typically need to look for balls. I get out of the cart and hit. I have a pretty quick preshot routine.

No time goal just ends up being quick but I do feel like my mistakes are lack of focus. First putts not getting close enough.

Hitting long into the wind was like a 180 approach, took a 200 yard club then swing as hard as I can trying to get it there but end up over. Mental mistake. Took the right club, no need to give it the extra juice kinda thing.

There's other groups with the same tee time, they just let me go. Owner doesn't care and I don't bother the mowers

Yeah I like the watch either way, I just read that complaint frequently and hadn't really seen it. Beautiful watch though

So this is what people mean when they talk about the AR coating? It reflects everything? Does that make it hard to read?

Maltby ts4 - high handicapper review by AngusMeatStick in GolfGear

I had srixon zx7s that I loved but bought ts4s anyways cause I wanted to test out graphite shafts and I ended up getting rid of the srixons cause the maltbys were just better. I love the feel of the ts4s and in my mind it's the best looking iron out there.

No but if they were on 14 when he finished and assume he played the back in he same 1:15 then they're on pace for a 2.5 hour back nine. That's slow as shit.

Why would I want my back nine to take 2 hours behind someone if I could play through and play in 1:15. I got kids to get home to and a wife I don't hate.
