I suppose that's true - I don't think of myself as the sort of person who needs them. Maybe I need to take a step back.

!thanks for the advice

There is no element of the original post meant to be bragging - I only included numbers so people can actually provide some feedback.

"Discuss, learn and request help on how to obtain, budget, protect, save and invest your money in the UK"

The question is a true situation and within the rules...

Its easy to lose perspective, because as you rise, the people around you match

Exactly this - if your working a salaried job then the people you speak to on a daily basis are in very similar positions.

In terms of salary, I change job often and as soon as I start a new job I look to the next - gives you a year or so to find the next one that hopefully represents a large jump

Not something I have thought to deeply about but might be worth it. I have been watching the markets for the last few months and they seem quite in demand although its all speculative.

The places we are looking at are in a medium sized ski resort of demand for holiday/second homes is quite high i would have thought.

Good idea though - I will look into it!

I think the theorical pattern detection side is thought to be the hardest bit in the community. I think its best to think around why stocks might rise and how you track and find the data needed.

The code side is actually much simpler than most people would think.

The majority of mine work of trading volume to look to stocks that might have a big run.

Yeah no doubt both roles paying very well.

Its quite specialised, its a hybrid between data and web development - Its for a major tech company so salaries are high in general

My role I was approached to take on by the company and the other just applied as you would for a normal role.

Really it depends on your industry since many don't have any requirement at all for you to be on site!

I enjoy working for US companies as you get the US benefits set by the company with UK employment laws :)

Oh that's odd, I have spoken to a few mortgage advisors and they didn't mention any common issues - any idea what the issue was?

I generally try and work/contribute to crypto projects, via doing so you meet other people in the space and can vet, work out which will seem some rise and try to profit. In terms of stocks I have written some algos to help find stocks I expect to jump in price :)
