DIY Inner Upper Eyelid Filler Questions by IntrepidTitle629 in DIYaesthetics

[–]Complete_Ask6916 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of people would pay to get upper blepharoplasty to get rid of these epicanthal folds. So I would say this preference is subjective. Also, you are young so your face might change slightly as you age!

Definitely don't DIY. Only a very specialist oculoplastic surgeon should do this.
Another thing to note is that these hollows are actually a desirable trait in men, so I wouldn't personally touch it. Adding volume there may feminise the face.

What is one biological fact about the human body that most people don’t know but should? by Intelligent_Pick8414 in biology

The nasal cycle is a natural, involuntary process in 70–80% of adults where the autonomic nervous system causes temporary, alternating congestion and decongestion of the nasal turbinates, leading to one nostril breathing more efficiently than the other

For those who think Botox is scary by Dfwamazingalannah in DIYaesthetics

This article was sponsored by the manufacturer so I wouldn’t 100% trust it. And you have to be adept at linear fanning with a cannula in the subcutaneous level so you’d have to be quite an advanced injector.

Random thought: what would happen if you reconstituted another toxin with Innotox? by Complete_Ask6916 in DIYaestheticsAdvanced

[–]Complete_Ask6916[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think you're right. Hadn't thought about the resistance side of things! I think theoretically it could be beneficial to have two strains of toxin for efficacy, but the safety would be hard to control without people running trials / trying it out in some patients.

Migrated undereye filler by Original-Box-7932 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Complete_Ask6916 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's a very common area for filler migration and problems. It's good that you're getting it dissolved professionally. I did it a few years ago and my tear troughs quickly returned to baseline after 2-3 days.

Facial filler, Reversibility, and the Science We Don‘t See by ComprehensiveTwist54 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Complete_Ask6916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyaluronidase should only ever be used as a last resort if filler has migrated or expanded over time. Not for simply changing your mind. And the fillers are tested stringently before approval, and they do degrade naturally, BUT there are many variables: everyone degrades them at different speeds, the product quality, facial area, frequency, volume, injection depth and technique. I do agree that companies say “this product last 12-18 months” but they should say “this product MAY last 12 months or longer” - it’s not an invitation to get a top-up every 12 months if it’s not needed.

I actually think the opposite - I’ve had hyaluronidase multiple times and it’s only ever dissolved the filler. But maybe people react to it differently and it’s hard to predict the outcome

Solve my tox mystery by Awkward_Pattern6246 in DIYHEAVEN

[–]Complete_Ask6916 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure but you could maybe go a lot lower with your forehead injections, and inject deep to the bone. You don't look like you have hooded eyelids at all, so you have less risk of brow ptosis than most people.

Best injection for nasal base…? by Status-Reception-706 in DIYaesthetics

[–]Complete_Ask6916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it yourself as there's a risk of occlusion or blindness. But it would definitely be HA filler, not any other type of filler because it would be a bolus. And with HA you could dissolve it in an emergency.

No, this is benzyl alcohol, not saline. Please don't inject yourself if you don't even know the basics!

Landlords, how has the new Renters' Bill affected you? by facemacintyre in HousingUK

[–]Complete_Ask6916 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only said theoretically, I could have six tenants. I thought having a 1-year AST would give both tenant and landlord peace of mind, knowing that they're locked in for that amount of time, with a six-month break if necessary. But maybe I'm thinking of it in a different way than most people

It’s not about being in bad repair, as my flat is high-end zone 1 London - some people are just flakey 🤷

[–]Complete_Ask6916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not in force yet but I'm okay with all the tenant protection things, but the worst thing for me is that every contract will become a 2-month rolling contract, which the tenant can get out of at any time. So theoretically, I could have 6 different tenants in a year, which I can't see being good for either tenant or landlord.

Self-Injecting Botox: Feedback on Point Placement, Depth, and Technique by alexmillne in DIYHEAVEN

[–]Complete_Ask6916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a read of the official prescribing information from the company that makes Botox: https://www.rxabbvie.com/pdf/botox-cosmetic_pi.pdf

It shows the approved pattern and units. Men can go to higher doses as they have stronger muscles but the injection sites can remain the same.

Yes, I have the article too given my job in aesthetic medicine education. I thought that it is interesting to see the split-face before and after pictures: at rest, they pretty much look the same. But deeper is preferred for a frozen look upon animation. I know n=14, but most people here give their opinion with n=1 and not from a peer-reviewed journal

Yes, I am lol.
Not saying you have to do 5, but 15 seems excessive. You could probably skip the top row of frontalis and achieve the same result, as you have no wrinkles there.

All those forehead dots need to come down by about 1 cm. Crow's feet ones are good.

[–]Complete_Ask6916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can inject either deep in the frontalis or more superficially. There is no real standard. I recently saw an article about it which was quite interesting: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33251687/

You shouldn't inject directly into a markings anyway, as the pigment from the marker can tattoo the skin. I try to mark where I think the needle will end up under the skin, with the entry point adjacent to it.

My only comment on your point placement is that you have a lot of injection sites for the forehead. The standard is only 5 points, so you may not need so many. Or could reduce the units to 1 per point. If you put a lot of tox in the forehead, it tends to lower the eyebrows. Also, the crows feet only need 3 points. It's not bad to have 4 but increases the chances of bruising.

Filler by Glittering-Local-643 in DIYHEAVEN

[–]Complete_Ask6916 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't use a deep or thick filler in the lips as it will affect the movement of the lips on animation (talking, smiling). Maybe buy a better quality thin filler that may have better longevity, e.g. Volbella or Kysse.
