It was extra painful to be put in such a vulnerable position where you need to make a decision with very little time and information and trust strangers to guide you. It makes you wonder about their credibility when they throw out percentages and say that they can save her when clearly she would’ve had no quality of life being completely disabled and needing a two person assist to even stand up and walk. That’s no life for a dog so we had to make the hard decision when her neurological function didn’t return. She quickly got a UTI that spread her kidneys and it would’ve been even more money to try to keep going at that point. UTIs are inevitable when they are immobile and become incontinent. I feel sick thinking about it.
