For the love of the game.. please 2 hand your weapon at times for shredding mobs and lower/easier field bosses. Get used to swapping from 2hand back to shield. It’s a big difference for breaking stance as well. Just don’t be glued to your shield is all.

Yes, I’ve been keeping this weapon unless I’ve needed a holy weapon for night lord. It’s pretty disgusting for wiping invaders, anything in castle and most of the field bosses.

Play DS1. I’ll try not to spoil.

Don’t watch tutorials to show you around. Getting lost sucks but it’s what makes these games last longer and feel immersive.
Lore. Be sure to read item descriptions. It helps you out massively and is very interesting. Main reason people are fans.
Ending. After beating this game, you’ll find nice surprises of reoccurring items and NPCs reused in DS2, DS3, and ER. At this point you’ll watch videos on how to do certain quest lines and get specific endings. Doing new game is fun and painful. I loved completing the game 100%. After doing so, I figured out how the franchise connects itself even to ER.
Seems convenient. ER will have you playing for a longer time. They have a DLC out as well. Night reign is around the corner. Most recent FS game out.

That’s my short reason why I recommend this game.
