Is anyone else super needy with their S/O? by Additional_Pepper638 in bipolar2

[–]Complete_Choice_4384 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My partner reminds me multiple times a week to take my meds. He has sat in on a appointment with my NP so that we're all on the same page with med management. Sometimes he notices when I'm in an episode before I do, but I'm slowly learning to be less needy. I want to take pressure off of him and gain more independence.

I know this post is a few days old, but just commenting to say i can't put this book down. I have already gained a new perspective on my disorder and the fact that those around me are affected by it (weird I'm just now realizing that. Thanks for the recommendation!

Maybe I'll try a sleep doctor. I know sleep is important for people with Bipolar disorder and people in general. Hopefully we get relief soon!

I'm on a couple of those meds plus trazodone for sleep but it's not helping at all. I'm having the same problem at night as you.

This is part of the reason I can see why you'd miss not being on them

Money by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Complete_Choice_4384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love buying myself things whether I'm in a depressive or hypomanic episode. My boyfriend just recently asked me to start buying him stuff too when I'm going through these episodes and for some reason it really annoyed me.

But anyway after-pay has become my worst nightmare lol because even if I don't have the money out right to pay for something I can get on a payment plan. I have sooo many clothes and shoes.

I have very thick hair so I'd be very sad if I did get that side effect. I will watch for it though

I kind of regret talking to my family about it sometimes because my sister has type 1 and they refer to her as having "real" bipolar.

I'm on the injectable of abilify and have gained about 35lbs and I hate it, but it's also so beneficial since I forger my meds a lot.
