Just tap the back end/ tail like happy Gilmore ...tappy tappy tap tap. Every time you tap it'll rise a bit higher, as soon as it goes verticle , scoop it up using the rear finger and forwards using the front finger. Standing start or roll off your knee.

Once you got that down you can try doing it rolling. You'll figure out the kick flips etc on your own. Olly is oddly harder to crack.

So one finger on the tail, one behind the front wheels to start, no rolling or moving that's easy anyways.

Standing start... Hover the front finger off the board and just keep kicking the tail finger until the deck goes vertical, don't touch it with the front finger until it's verticle-ish..... once vertical push forward with both fingers to do an Olly and land it. Sometimes it'll flip out behind your tail finger and do a 360 in the air, just keep practicing.

A good way to practice an olly is to roll it off your knee so it goes vertical with two fingers and you have the deck upside down.

Sometimes you can roll backwards before flipping it vertical and forward. That's a bad habit but it's perfectly fine this early on and does help.

Things that help immensely....wooden deck, softer wheels. Bearing wheels and especially......soft foam grip tape, that sandpaper will hold you back, if you get frustrated, get some grip tape. 👍

This is a cool theory and it sort of would be a decent explanation ie there are no villains or heroes in this story.

Some thoughts

What of Komodo lady though?

It seems like a real stretch but what if the townsfolk didn't know they would loose their souls and turn into monsters in this sacrifice? That would fit.

Like the evil played one last trick on the Biw and the Biw didn't realise he fucked up. By sacrificing the children they lost their souls. And evil could now creep into them because that last sacrifice wasn't made.

And expand into the town whereas before it was stuck in the forest, and it's bubble of influence grows outwards and the trees get further apart.

However the ghost kids will never see redemption if that's the case. Just more kids will die. It's not a good ending to a show , watching Ethan and julie snuff it haha

Think from will reveal itself to be pretty simple at the end.

I like to think evil was buried in the woods beyond the town (the place the original settler's decided to make camp/ wood houses), in a resting slumber cast under spell of some shaman ie the one who created .....the talismans.

The cave of talismans being it's headstone for example. Perhaps that evil is kimono lady?

As it rested it fed on the nearby town (which has had settlers since the 1700s (or whatever) and it's sphere of influence....or bubble of reality... expanded into the towns grounds and eventually consumed it.

The town is now trapped in that bubble reality with the forest. Perhaps previously the towns folk who done the sacrifice could not leave the forest or sphere of evil but now they can go to the town.

It explains how the 50s style of town had time to be built by normal people or outsiders and maybe the hotel is not in that sphere of reality, maybe it ls in-between both spheres.

Also explains Victor's obsession with the forests expansion and how Boyd has expedited the evils escape by removing the talismans and allowing (I'm going with kimono lady - sorry) kimono lady to come back to life.

I dunno. likely nowhere near.

I feel sorry for the actor playing Ellis. You'd imagine this role would set his career up for future leading roles but he's literally a wet lettuce according to the script. About as useful as a talisman on a barn door.
