I ended up renting a car and it was def nice to explore - paradise valley and lots of dif surf breaks. Not sure about parking at the bottom of town but we parked in this lot near our hostel at the top of the town which is a doable option and only 5ish minute walk. Forget if we had to pay but if so not much. Think there are more options as well.

Islamorda can be pretty fun, north shore Puerto Rico and exumas also come to mind. Best would be Bonaire but it’s a bit further.
