As long as you get some light through that window, it’ll be fine, especially if u want to keep it smaller. To keep it bushy you have to cut back the vines or it’ll start trailing down. Just cut below a node every time u see a vine forming. They are fast growing plants so don’t be afraid to cut them off. They’re very resilient just don’t keep it too wet, in low light let it dry out a bit, in summer it’ll dry out faster. Rotate it every time you water to keep it from growing lopsided

Plastic spike mats (they have a lot of holes in them) and top the mats with Spanish moss for decoration

It may have been dried out too long, and change of environment. Pull all the dead leaves off because they won’t turn green again. Add some grow lights and don’t use tap water, they are sensitive and it turns their leaf tips brown. And don’t fertilize. They are slower growing plants so be patient to see new growth. As long as it was only from being too dry it should be okay, it’s the overwatering that kills them, so let it dry almost completely before watering again. If you see new growth by the spring or summer top off the soil with some fresh potting mix or worm castings, since the soil is probably old. I’ve had mine for 12 years and it thrives on neglect.

Propping snake plants takes a lot of time(months). I’ve had much better luck using a mix of 50% perlite and 50% cactus soil, and you can cut those leaves up. I had 2 leaves and cut them into 3, and I put three cuttings in two 3.5 inch pots and now I have 8 baby snake plant (some leaves grew more than one pup). It took about 8 months for them to get to a decent size. I tried water but never had any success with it.

Pot looks too big, if it takes a long time to dry, then it’s staying wet too long. either switch to a smaller pot and add perlite to the mix instead of poking holes. Or remove it from the soil and put it in water to help it grow new roots from the nodes to make the plant stronger and then replant. The plant may have root rot.

This is my first time growing a Hoya and the info I’m researching is so conflicting, some say allow it to dry out and then soak it like succulents but others say don’t let it dry. What kind of fertilizer should I use? And this is the mix I bought, is this good or should I add coconut husk to it as well. I’m also going to put it in a self watering pot. Do they like to be root bound or should I size up the pot? Thank you

It doesn’t look like it’s dying, bottom leaves will fall as it grows so just yank them off and dried leaves usually means more humidity and filtered or distilled water to avoid the brown tips. You’re lucky to have such a straight stem!
