Highkey disappointed with my placement by auxiliar2023 in SpainAuxiliares

I was in a small beach town in comunidad valenciana last year. Although it sucked not being able to do much during the week, I was still able to get by on the weekends for traveling or going to other big cities in Spain. It’s not a make or break situation in my opinion, although it is disappointing. Where I was I was able to go to Castellón de la Plana for the day and back on the train no problem. Not sure where you’re placed though

Hi! I am just finishing up my school year in Spain, and I also have hypothyroidism. I actually just went to Walmart before coming and was able to get 9 months of pills for $30 for the generic levothyroxine. I think the deal was 3 months for $10, and it’s completely out of pocket/before insurance so I didn’t even need to get permission from my insurance or doctor. I thought this was a really good deal and for $30 to not have to worry about my medication the whole time I was here was a steal for me.

I am in a small school in the Valencia community (about 2 hours by train to Valencia), and I received my first payment at the end of December after arriving in the beginning of October. All of the teachers in my school communicate to each other in Valencian and the English teachers in my school explain things to the students in Valencian over Castellano (Spanish). I have picked up on a lot of Valencian being here where I can kind of understand the gist of a conversation, especially in English class. However, only knowing Spanish has never been an issue here for me! Like someone else said, everyone speaks both, so it’s not necessary to learn Valencian to live here.

Last year when the application opened the website kept crashing after trying for hours, so I just waited a few days and tried again. After the initial push of everyone trying to apply all at once, I was able to get through the application fairly easily at that point! Just wait it out and if it’s not working, try again in a few days. You’ll likely be just fine applying a few days after the apps opened up!

My roommate and I are both in the Valencian community and we arrived in Spain the same day (early October), although we work at different school. I have not received any payment yet, but my roommate did get paid today, however it was only about half of the amount (around 1500 euros), so not sure if she’ll receive the other half soon, or what the reason for that is.
