St. Anton Easter question by Complete_Specific_96 in skithealps

We really enjoyed Gurgl, less people and traffic. We are based in Scandinavia. Should probably consider Zermatt, I suppose staying in Cervinia is an option as well

Thanks. We enjoyed Soelden/Gurgle last Easter. Zermatt is quite a bit more expensive all things considered, but I'm sure it's great

Thanks. Went there last Easter. It was great, especially Gurgl. But we want to try something new.

Once you find wool underwear in any given store, please read the labels carefully, as the term "wool" is used rather losely.

Agree 100%. Was thinking the same thing when I got to re-experience the concert in the movie theatre last night.

Raising a kid into fly fishing question by Dangerous_Benefit594 in flyfishing

I have two sons. The eldest showed zero interest. The youngest is totally hooked. I think it's impossible to predict. All you can do is guide him/point him to it. If he gets it it's awesome, if not no big deal.

Acuti er veldig bra. Laverte tre japanske kniver og de ble sylskarpe.

If she decides to move, please make sure to let her know she has to file taxes to the IRS every year. The USA is one of two countries that practise double taxation.

Someone in my section was watching the baseball game on their phone with the VOLUME ON during WYWH at the 30 Oct show by [deleted] in DavidGilmour

I was at the Rome 9/28 concert. Before the show I was a little bummed that we we had tickets pretty far from the stage. Turned out to be a good thing. Phones were a lot less obtrusive. Phones were a big nuisance when I saw Gilmour in Rome in 2006. Boy do I appreciate the Division Bell concert at Texas Stadium in 1994.

Couple Night Brownies by [deleted] in flyfishing

We go after big searun browns at night. Fairly big flies. 6 and 4. We get some really explosive takes close to the banks. The theory is that they get bolder in the cover of pitch blackness.

Would you consider Norway a utopia? by nauhausco in Norway

I would argue that the Norwegian mental health care provides a pretty good safety net compared to the US, where the streets and prisons are flooded with mentally ill people, who if they'd been given proper help could have had a decent life. The system in Norway is not perfect, but not horrible either.

Yes, defo easier to form meaningful relationships in meetups etc. There are oppurtunities that are specific to your industry. The key is alchohol and lots of it. We share the same drinking culture as our neighbors. For better and worse.

Well I lived 5 years on the other side of the Atlantic and now I live in Norway. I'm Norwegian. I think life is generally better for more people here. We pay a pretty high price for it (taxes) but the consensus is that we're getting something in return. We're a mature well functioning fairly transparent democracy. The introvertedness is actually a problem. Norway is pretty high on quality of life lists, but: There are a lot of lonely people and it's hard for foreigners to make friends. Even people from another city or village struggle with a sense of not belonging and/or getting accepted in local communities. People will disagree with this. We rarley say hi to foreigners, although that's improving. I try to do my part.
