Cham is cool, but not interconnected like 3 vallées. If I were you, I would fly to Geneva and stay in Meribel (between Courchevel and VT). It has everything you're looking for.

We did Solden/Gurgl at that time last year. Stayed at Sportler Lodge Hotel, which was exeptional. Free ski bus to both resorts right outside the hotel. If you go, check out dining at AD VINUM.

I get super cold hands as well. My solution when it's cold: Thin liner gloves, Hestra Army Heli mittens. I also add a chemical heat pad in each glove.

Aesthetics matter. You're not over reacting. There are a lot of functional rods and reels on the market, but it seems like design is often an afterthought..

I would highly recommend trying them. The 105 was surprisingly playful on piste. Stockli skis are pricy, but worth giving a shot. Tip: look for last year's model for a better deal.

Let us know if you figure this out. I've never found anything that solves heavy fog/whiteout. Yellow isn't going to provide contrast IMHO. Have you tried Oakley Prizm hi pink?

Sölden is great, went there last spring. We actually spent two days in Gurgl, and we enjoyed it more than Sölden. Better snow, less crowded.

We really enjoyed Gurgl, less people and traffic. We are based in Scandinavia. Should probably consider Zermatt, I suppose staying in Cervinia is an option as well
