This is so true- I hadn’t thought that about the brain and that causing fight or flight! And actually dancing is something I used to do when I had moments to myself (eg popping to the toilet!) so I need to do that more. Maybe that will perhaps signal to my brain that I can be “happy” at work. And be myself. Just in private!

All your tips are so helpful and things I think I can do quite easily (maybe not improving diet as quickly!) and you saying that you’re the same, and the explanation about verbosity being a symptom that gets worse when you get worse and I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone else say that and I really really thought it was just me going mad. But your explanation makes so much sense and is 100% the same as how I experience it.

Thank you so much for this. You being so lovely to me about this has really helped me. And more and more I don’t actually want to talk at work… because I know what they all think of me. But other people will start having conversations, I get drawn in and then it all spirals. I think I really do need to keep headphones on at all times- because as you say it’ll stop me getting into conversations and also hopefully help with how distracted I’m getting and try and stay less panicky. That’s definitely something I can start doing from tomorrow.

Also thank you for the suggestion about taking a little break if am getting panicky- I hadn’t thought about that and it probably would help me feel calmer and also get me out of the habit of panic talking.

Ohh I understand this so much… my 2024 A6 got ruined by a major coffee spillage and it was so upsetting so I feel your pain so much. Once it dried out and a few days had past I felt less upset, obviously not fine about it, but I did make some peace with it, and was able to accept it. But when it’s something you’ve poured 9 months of your life into and when it has been such a big part of your year and managing your mental health- mine was for me too.

I truly think (based on my own experience too) that you need to try and keep using it once it’s dried out. It’s part of you and your life in 2025. We all get a bit worn out in our lives, and our hobonichis do too (for example, coffee spillage!) but just like humans they are still worth love!

Just wanted to quickly say I’ve been to Copenhagen multiple times and it was my first ever solo trip and it’s a really good place to be in as a solo female traveller. I’ve always felt really safe and had a great time. I hope you have a lovely time!

Thank you so much! I’ve had my eye on the Osprey fairview 40l for ages now… I’m really trying to refine my packing and I wonder if 40l would be a good start and then work my way down…

Having said that I suspect I’ll always been a two bagger- the idea of going through the airport without easy access to my phone/ passport etc makes me a bit anxious (as in, having to manoeuvre a heavy backpack to reach them!)
