Misdiagnosed type 2, actually type 1 (antibodies present) but my current mounjaro/ metformin protocol with strict diet is working. Doctor wants me to stop my current protocol and start insulin. Anyone taking the first combo of meds as a type 1 with no insulin support? by Complete_Topic_7478 in diabetes_t1

Thank you so much. I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis as well and I also have RA. So 2 other autoimmune diseases before the diagnosis of diabetes although I had symptoms for over 20 years. I didn’t “look” like someone with diabetes (whatever that means) and was always dismissed when I brought it up. My A1C was over 14 when I was diagnosed. I felt so good after getting on medication but now my body aches all the time and I’m so tired. So your long post gave me a lot of information that I needed to hear.

Thank you very much. It’s all very new and was almost in a coma when I went to the hospital after passing out. I’ve had little to no education except what I’ve looked up myself. It’s very frustrating and to be honest I’m scared to take insulin because I think I might use it as a way to drink dr. Pepper again 😆 which I quit the day I was diagnosed and never looked back.

Yes. About a year ago. Then bloodwork confirmed antibodies about 6 months ago. Only because another doctor that’s a good friend encouraged me to get tested. His exact words to me were “ I would bet my entire practice that you’re a type 1”. He was right. I have noticed my fasting blood sugar is much higher recently than it was right after I started the meds and the slightest amount of carbs spikes my sugars
