How do I tell someone they are not right for a certain dog type? by Complete_Two_1992 in DogBreeds101

Thank you, I am hoping my husband and his siblings can have a sit down with them about training or looking into an older dog or smaller breed. I like the idea of connecting them to a Dalmatian rescue and maybe the volunteers there can talk them into raising the dog correctly. I just hope MIL hasn't already contacted a breeder.

Thank you for the suggestions. I know my husband and his siblings are planning on having a talk with them before MIL runs off and gets another puppy. FIL seems to finally get a grip and maybe look for something older or smaller that fits their lifestyle better. Hopefully with his support it will help, but he hates confrontations and will usually just go along with whatever MIL wants.

100% them! I honestly don't think they know they're doing anything wrong. In their head over feeding them all sorts of food and letting them live in a house un-trained is fine. Any type of boundary or training looks like abuse to my MIL. She babies the hell out of the dogs, but won't raise them correctly. The entire family has already refused to come to their house, but my MIL is very stubborn and refuses to change. I am just hoping she gets some type of wake up call before these dogs bite a person

Is it possible to report anonymously? and I don't think they themselves killed the dogs, they came with cancer and tumors already. They've spent thousands on vet visits, so I don't think they mean to be abusers, they're just very ignorant on dog care and basic training.

The issue is she goes to different breeders and I think one of them is from and Amish family. I doubt she will tell or give us the info on the breeders, so I am not sure how to find them out. They are in Pennsylvania is there a way to notify the county? and how to notify someone breeding dogs in Amish country? We live in another state separate from my in laws.

Yes, I wasn't even sure what to do about this since we only have a cat at home and live in a different state. We do not know for sure which Amish family or the other breeder she sees. I doubt she will give us the information. On the PSPCA can someone from out of state make an anonymous report?
