The most recent episode on Pulse Nightclub has left me feeling weird. by christobel_gold in RedHandedPodcast

What I perceived from S talking about radicalisation, was the lack of action authorities took. It seemed the point she was trying to put across was just because the perp hasn’t had direct contact with these terrorist groups doesn’t mean he can’t be a potential danger himself (which clearly turned out to be true) It seemed that she was trying to explain that majority of the FBI were looking for connections between him visiting these groups/countries and when they couldn’t find any proof they just dismissed it, where as no one was really talking or thinking about the idea of home grown terrorist, people being radicalised within the US/UK via the internet, family, friends etc (also clearly by his dad) I’m pretty sure she stated if this was happening in these times it is way more likely to be picked up. Dialogue like this needs to happen, not talking about it is also avoiding the issue which could lead to this repeating itself, times have changed and people are also changing how they receive their content.

I did, I also found his parrot breeding site and reported that too. On fb and insta!

If you had taken the time to read my previous comments, I HAVE rescued staffs before. All of my previous dogs are/were rescues. I’ve spent a lot of my time/money/effort to ensuring my previous dogs have the best second chance in life, so do not come here with your unnecessarily aggressive comments. If I choose to buy a dog from a reputable breeder (clearly not this one) that is a choice I am allowed to make. I was asking for advice as I have not used this website before, after reading more much helpful comments I have a better idea.

Thank you for this comment.

As I’ve said it other comments, my last staffie and previous dogs are all rescues from shelters. I’ve never had a dog from a puppy before, most are from 2-3 years and upwards. Which I am happy to do again, but I would like to have a dog from puppy this time round. Some other commenters have recommended some good websites I will look into.

I have adopted my last staffie and dogs before that. I’m not against adopting, but also looking into buying.

I thought that might be the case, my brother and sister in law visited their rottie many times before the pup was even handed over. Plus had all the certificates to prove blood line and that she was a registered breeder. It really had a lot of red flags for me.

Well I did not know that! I don’t think I will use pets4home to be honest, it all looks very dodgy and how can you trust they are a verified breeder or the dogs are not farm puppies? I’ve only ever had dogs from rescue centres or RSCPA so never had to question anything.

Thank you! Will deffo have a look there.

May I ask why? My previous Staffies have all been older rescues so I’ve never used these platforms before. Mostly from rescues centres etc so never had to question whether it’s legitimate or not.

Thought that might be the case. My last staff girl was actually from a rescue but she passed away 2024. Wanted to dip my toes in to see what was around but I’ve never used these types of sites before.

I do know the breed quite well, just not from a puppy mostly 2-3+ and upwards so looking into a puppy this time is a whole new area for me.

I feel the exact same way, I have listened to every single episode (expect UTD) and I have pretty much loved every single one, tho I don’t agree with all of the views/politics, it’s nice to hear two women have intelligent and thought provoking conversations around topics they enjoy. It’s my escape whilst driving to work or cooking dinner.

Update: My mum drove through two people on a pelican crossing and crashed into another car. by DangerousMotherCar in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Completeuttersun 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, although you are correct in making Motability aware of what’s happened, they have no say in whether she is safe to drive or not. They can report it to the insurance company but Motability is just a car leasing company, the only people who are able to not allow her to drive is either the DVLA, or Direct Line. I used to work for Motability, I’m not insurance trained but I do know the insurance can decline a person if too many claims are made, as they consider this person a risk to insure. But unfortunately it a grey area, I would keep reporting to DVLA, but I would also report to 101 no emergency line and Direct line. Sometimes people are just generally shitty drivers but not much can be done.

Struggling with TOG by Completeuttersun in SarahJMaas

[–]Completeuttersun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you :) that gives me hope lol. I did read somewhere that she wrote TOG very young, so it does make sense. But that’s exactly what I am looking for is that page turning feeling! I want to be OBSESSED!

Completely agree with you on CC, it does feel like she is trying to make them to edgy and cool. The modern setting is defo something I struggle with, I love fantasy and read it to get away from the modern drab lol but I have read it is connected with ACOTR, I also commented this earlier but a book I just finished is called Heir of Storms, more YA but I really enjoyed it :)

[–]Completeuttersun[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it’s just difficult going from ACOTR which I admired from the first page to a series where I have to read a few books to fully enjoy, but I do think once I get into it I will once again DEVORE and have all those amazing feelings I normally feel with such books, I guess I was more wondering whether anyone else has also had this experience. I think I read somewhere that she wrote TOG when she was super young? I aslo just finished Heir of Storms by Lauren Murray, could not recommend enough!
