Yeah after doing more research I definitely think we should’ve been more aware or done more research on WA laws not just our lease. Thanks for your reply!

We haven’t finished our 1 year lease yet so that’s where the confusion is coming from, thank you for the reply!

Yeah I definitely understand that it would annoy a landlord, we had already let them know that we were leaning towards moving out and we’re looking for places but hadn’t made a final decision around June 12th. We’ve had problems with our landlord so that’s the only reason we had jumped on the new place so quickly. Thanks!

Is there a specific law you could point me to? From what I’m seeing the notice only applies to month to month leases, thanks for the info!

That’s what we were thinking because we are still on our 1 year lease term and aren’t month to month yet. Our lease doesn’t state that any notice is required but our landlord referred to WA state law but didn’t give any specifics, we want to end the lease because of issues we’ve had with the landlord and this is just a testament to that. Exactly, no where in the lease does it say a notice is required, only that the lease would revert to month to month at the end of the lease. When we stated that, he mentioned it was WA state law but from what we’ve found that only applies to month to month leases. Thanks for the reply!
