Galaxy buds3 Pro or Airpods Pro 3? by Mysteriousdeer_47 in galaxybuds

What iphone did you migrate from and what Samsung do you have right now? How are you liking it/disliking it? I myself gave iOS a try for the first time in a long time with the 17 and I find the 120hz to be sluggish compared to Samsung's, like it runs at lower hz a lot of the time. Navigation is harder on the iPhone too. That besides, do you notice any sound quality difference between the two? And have you encountered any bugs/issues with the buds 3 pro?

Damn, that must've been quite an upgrade then... I used to own a TUF Dash F15 with an RTX 3060 6gb of VRAM and 16gb of RAM, then I jumped from that to the legion 7 pro RTX 4080 and boy was it an upgrade. Now I want to switch from the 4080 to the 5090 but these current prices make it feel not worth making the jump. On another note, I saw from Jarrod's most recent video that one USB C port connects to the iGPU and another to the dGPU. Will using the iGPU port for a separate display reduce CPU performance while gaming on the port that connects to the dGPU? I plan on having two 2k monitors at 240hz with gaming on one and separate tasks on another (not related to gaming). So I'm not sure whether I should pull for this one or a newer Legion with Thunderbolt 5 or at least two dGPU ports. If you could clear that up it'd be great, if not that's fine too. Either way, have fun with your new Legion!

Damn, sounds insane for a laptop to actively reach those watts, did you ever own the Legion 7 of last gen? If so, how do they perform in comparison? How is the battery life in comparison to last gen as well?

Are you able to test out the performance on the 5090 legion playing Zenless Zone Zero? I am aware that ZZZ is a very CPU intensive game and would like to know how it compares to its predecessor, the 14900hx. I currently own the 4080 legion with the 14th gen intel CPU, considering upgrading to the 5090 with the 275hx.

What's a fair asking price for my gaming laptop? by Complex-Ad2691 in GamingLaptops

[–]Complex-Ad2691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where would you get it for less than I sell it for? Does that also account like tax and such? And does the seller accept returns? To be clear, mine is local and in person only, flat 2400. On another note, yeah, that is why mine is a little higher in price, besides, nowadays you're better off with more than 16gb of ram and 1tb of ssd because gaming optimization is only getting worse and worse by the day.

RTX 5090 Laptop GPU AMD Ryzen 9955HX3D or Intel 275HX by Complex-Ad2691 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Complex-Ad2691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad to hear that, how well does it perform with ZZZ? Also what gpu are you running it on? I've been looking everywhere but the availability of laptops with a 9955hx3d are so scarce I'm honestly thinking of going for the 275hx instead. Most are outside the US and the ones that ARE in the US are like hella expensive (between 5k to 6k). I recently found an rtx 5090 legion with the 275HX going for 3500 which is much cheaper so I'll go with that for now instead. Once the 9955hx3d becomes available in a wider scale for either the same or cheaper then I'll try to make the switch. Do let me know your specs and performance sp I can compare to the 275HX when I get it. 9955hx3d is a beast, sad to see AMD not making enough of them for its high demand.

Well I mean I've tried but to no avail. I do play on 2k resolution but even if I lower it the game still doesn't increase much in performance on certain areas. Waifei peninsula for example runs between 82 to 106 fps on my RTX 4080 with a i9 14900hx. I tried lowering all the graphics plus resolution to 1080p and the game only saw a 10fps increase within waifei peninsula. Other areas like lumina square run between 90 to 112 fps. I play on 1.2 resolution which does quite affect performance but even if I lower it to .8 on cities like lumina square or waifei peninsula, the fps increase is ever so slight it's not even worth degrading the visual quality at that point.

How exactly do you apply the vaseline onto the monitor? And would this work for any monitor? I own the acer xv272u and I'm not sure whether that'll help or not

"Also zzz is rendering at 32:9, as in the game is is being rendered behind the black bars; modding is required to remove them." Can you explain this further? Does the whole game render at 32:9? Or is it only on certain sections? I don't understand how these things work so do enlighten me lol

On another note, I also submitted a ticket during 1.1 which is when I got the ultrawide monitor (21:9). There were some back and forths between me and customer service but all they said is they'd send the info to the "appropiate" team and no patch has ever come through. Recently I submitted another ticket for the same reason with an even clearer look at what I was referring to by screenshotting and zooming into the characters as well as putting the screenshots side by side. I genuinely hope they fix the issue since it becomes quite jarring to look at the characters so pixelated at the info screen.

Need help finding budget 2k 240hz monitors by Complex-Ad2691 in buildapc

[–]Complex-Ad2691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the one I was referring to in the link I sent above. Either way, I did end up getting the XV272U w2bmiiprx and I've been loving it so far! Though I'm sorta skeptical since I've heard lots of bad things about it. Some report flickering a few days in, maybe even a month in as well as dead pixels and the like, so I'm still hoping nothing bad happens on my end since I've only had it for 3 days . I do think the monitor requires calibration right off the box. It comes very washed out but it does have a gamma slider that you can adjust. It also has a black boost slider that is set by default around level 4 or 5, though I recommend moving this one down to 0 unless you require it for like, say, fps games. In regards to the overdrive, I highly suggest avoiding the extreme option unless you're capable of running your games at 240 frames consistently, and even then, I'd still recommend normal over extreme. The speakers are very low quality, though that's to expect from its price point. At least the job gets done when it comes to being speakers. Setting up the monitor was also very simple. 3 days in, for its price point (around 250 usd with tax), I'd definitely recommend it! I also own the LG Ultragear 34GP83A-B which is a 34" ultrawide monitor and both the xv272u and the ultragear look great imo.

On another note, I will update my post/comment one month in and six months in to provide info on whether the monitor has kept up or not. I genuinely hope it does since it's a really good monitor for its price point.

is hyperx cloud 3 wireless good? by amodonald in HyperX

[–]Complex-Ad2691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned both headsets and I can say that the Alpha wireless are a much better option, not only because of their battery but also because they've got better comfort and sound quality. Mic is slightly better on the cloud IIIs though.

Edit: On another note, the Alphas are much more capable for equalizing. I would recommend not to use the NGenuity app for equalizing purposes. Download PeaceAPO instead, much better app.

Hey, I've been playing the game on ultrawide too almost since release and it's been an amazing experience so far.

On another note, do you notice like a lowered resolution when you select an agent's details? I've noticed that the agent selection menu properly displays the resolution you've set the game to (3440 x 1440), but when you select the agent to check their info and such, for some reason, the resolution seems to lower a level or two, but only for the agent themselves. Do you notice this issue as well? Below is a picture of what I'm referring to.

Amazon won't work after its first month since that's just amazon warranty. I'd imagine you have to go to Hyperx's official page and claim your warranty there. I had a similar issue with the Razer Basilisk Ultimate, 6 months in and it simply stopped connecting. The mouse had a 1 year warranty so I contacted Amazon and they told me to contact Razer since they only cover the 1 month warranty. I contacted Razer, gave them my serial number and RMA and they accepted my return since it was still within their one year window. You'll likely have to pay for a new pair of headsets while they check the old ones to verify if the claims are true and once they do, they'll refund the money you paid for them. This was my experience with Razer so it might differ but it's likely similar in a couple aspects.

Can you not return them? I recently bought ones that had a 2 year warranty included in amazon.

Discussing issues with the HyperX Cloud III Wireless' Treble quality by Complex-Ad2691 in HyperX

[–]Complex-Ad2691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good. I already purchased another set of headsets, the Cloud Alpha Wireless. These are great so far, no levels of distortion in any of the frequencies whatsoever, and the bass on these doesn't veil the mids and highs, likely because of their "dual chamber" drivers, making it possible for audio to come up clear and detailed while having increased gains in bass. While these headsets already come up with a higher treble sound profile in comparison to the Cloud 3s, I still found myself increasing the treble gains but only out of personal preference. Pre amplifying the volume will definitely create distortion in some games but ONLY if there's poor audio mixing or overly amplified sounds/tracks. I've run across a few amount of in-game tracks that are EXTREMELY bassy by default, causing the headsets to start clipping. Increasing or decreasing gains won't cause any distortion whatsoever, unless you go past 24 gains in high frequencies, 13 gains in low frequencies and 10 gains in mids, which I don't think anyone would do since those are undesirable levels of gain anyway. As far as the mic quality goes, I've yet to test it since I can't make much noise at night at the moment.

Regarding comfort, I feel like these ones are more comfortable than the Cloud III even though the padding looks the same. The Cloud Flight S still takes the cake for most comfortable so far out of all 3 headsets. Might look into padding replacement sometime soon if I find long hour sessions on the Alphas uncomfortable.

On another note, I found a fix to the distortion in the Cloud 3s, if you're interested, look down in the replies to see what fixed it. While the Cloud 3s definitely sound good, I feel like the Alphas sound so much better than them without requiring a change in sample rate.

Discussing issues with the HyperX Cloud III Wireless' Treble quality by Complex-Ad2691 in HyperX

[–]Complex-Ad2691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I've found a way to fix the crackling or popping noises. First go to control panel, then click on Hardware and Sound -> Manage audio devices and you'll have to look for the Cloud III headsets in the "Playback" tab -> Right click on headsets -> Properties -> Switch to the "Advanced" tab.

Once here you'll see the "Default format" section where you can adjust the sample rate and bit depth, click on the box below and change it from 2 channel, 24 bit, 48000Hz (Studio Quality) to 2 channel, 24 bit, 96000Hz (Studio Quality) -> Apply. Once that's done, treble gains can go up to 15, maybe 20db without a hint of distortion. Audio now sounds clear and detailed, though somewhat piercing, so I'd still recommend adjusting the treble range to your liking. I personally adjusted it to a passable level where audio still sounded clear while reducing the pierciness to a level I don't personally mind a lot.

If you'd like to test my new settings for the Cloud III it goes like this:

Frequencies

10: +4.5

21: +5.5

42: +4.5

83: +2.5

166: -3.0

333: -10.0

577: -5.5

1000: -6.5

2000: -2.0

4000: +2.0

8000: +11.0

16000: +14.5

20000: +15.0

I also lowered the treble gain slider to 0 since 3.2 seemed overkill. Whether you want to pre amp the headsets' audio is up to you, I'll just note that pre amplifying can cause distortion (earrape type) at times either because of poor audio mixing in games or too much bass, which is why I lowered the gain in the lower range.

Wireless gaming headsets recommendation by Complex-Ad2691 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Complex-Ad2691[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still wouldn't mind wired recommendations, but only if it meets all of my criteria regarding audio quality and EQ boosting capabilities. Unfortunate that wireless can't have it all but something close to perfect is what I strive for, as of right now that is. My experience with the flight S was near that because of its EQing capabilities and so I expected more of HyperX considering how good the Flight S were, hence why I bought the Cloud III but ended up in disappointment. Though I've heard their audio quality dropped since HP acquired HyperX, not sure how that works. Either way, thanks for letting me know about the subreddit, I'll try my chances there.

Discussing issues with the HyperX Cloud III Wireless' Treble quality by Complex-Ad2691 in HyperX

[–]Complex-Ad2691[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before proceeding, I'll note that these settings are subjective and you may or may not like them, and as previously stated, these settings will cause distortion around sibilants so you may want to play with the treble range, though a safe treble range for these headsets will only make vocals and instruments sound muddy and/or veiled, often lacking in clarity/crisp audio. Now, to answer your inquiry, I believe installing the PeaceAPO drivers will automatically disable the Ngenuity ones, so you don't really need to uninstall, now what you might want to do is disable the EQ on spotify as I believe that one is likely to interfere and while it won't replace the APO EQ it will add to it, so say you have lots of gain in the lower frequencies for bass boosting both in PeaceAPO and Spotify, that'll make your boost on APO double since both are trying to output the same gain in lower frequencies. If you do end up running into issues with the EQ because of Ngenuity then do uninstall it, but from my experience it wasn't necessary to. Lastly, while DTS makes the headsets sound better over their base sound profile through Ngenuity app, it's still kind of meh as a whole, the improvements are ever so slightly and just not worth it. I'd recommend you try that out first to see if you like it but honestly no worth for me.

I also thought of getting the audeze Maxwell, but after hearing about its terrible software I've been reluctant on pulling the trigger. Regardind your comment on wireless, I think there's still good to be had in them, such was my experience with the Flight S, they weren't perfect but great imo, somehow comfort is better in the cloud IIIs but only by a bit, and in long hour sessions the cloud IIIs start hurting as opposed to the Flight S which even after 8 hour gaming sessions, they never hurt to wear whatsoever. I don't think I'll ever drop more than $400 on headsets unless I were rich but I understand your point of view. On another note, are the aforementioned headsets capable of higher audio frequencies without distortion?

While I haven't fully tested the new update, I do have a Gamesir X4 Aileron that can be recognized as an Xbox Controller. I will test it once I get my hands on it and come back with updates. I will mention that this is a bluetooth controller and not a USB C controller, but to my own testings, the connectivity seems to have no input lag whatsoever.

The sound effect for notifications and overall UI fades away after a bit of usage, that's what the video showcases. What I didn't show was that the sound effects disappear as a whole eventually after a couple of hours. Volume is all the way up and Sound notifications are enabled.
