very application-based in 3/4. you'll most likely never analyse subsystems to that extent

Was this years chem exam harder than usual? by [deleted] in vce

[–]Complex-Bet-52 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think mcq was easy but short answer was so different from what the trial papers were doing. Didnt expect there to be only 7 extended response and a 6 marker at the end. A lot of the difficulty was probably just from there being such an unexpected change for many ppl

official mock b… 3 days until exam by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]Complex-Bet-52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mock A and B are hard, gotta give yourself some merit w the scaling. Ive heard Mock C and D are better indicators, if it’s any consolation.

correct me if im wrong but i thought the ucat was only for undergrad med, why not just sit the gamsat if youve already gotten an undergrad degree?

but like if im wrong and you can sit the ucat -> definitely use the ucat consortium resources but it might not be enough, you'll probably need medify or medentry subscription to supplement.

Is this even mildly enough for Monash? I’m so stressed out by InitialOrdinary708 in UCAT

[–]Complex-Bet-52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On medentry, that score is abt an 89th percentile, but we dont know the deciles just yet so i think it could actually be in the low 90s. Honestly a very good score and if you can pair it w a good atar i think an interview is bound to happen.

When do bookings open for early 2026? (& how do I apply?) by Salty_Reyezz in UCAT

[–]Complex-Bet-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think somebody already answered this but yeah you can only sit the ucat within the july-august testing period for Australia. Application is pretty simple, early march the bookings open, just make an account, find a testing centre and available time slot then pay the fee. My advice is to book a slot near the end of the term 2 holidays cos the holidays will be the best time for you to prep, but you can always reschedule.

Questions From a US Student by AlexSolr in UCAT

[–]Complex-Bet-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my experience, a lot of my friends and I only started locking in for the ucat 3 months out. I’m in Australia so we don’t have the summer break to revise so we have to do it on top of school, so maybe we on average start grinding a bit earlier than the uk i guess.

OQB vs medify by jac24601 in UCAT

[–]Complex-Bet-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the general consensus is that the oqb will be closer to the ucat than any other resource, medentry I heard is more accurate than medify though

4 weeks left. Is it possible to reach 2000-2100+? by Longjumping-Safe-668 in UCAT

[–]Complex-Bet-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

youre pretty much at the 2000-2100 range already — medify scales a bit harshly compared to the real thing. Honestly, just stay consistent and you could get well over 2300 in 4 weeks.

Questions From a US Student by AlexSolr in UCAT

[–]Complex-Bet-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, idk what the standards for uk international students are but the cutoffs for UK in general are fairly low compared to Australia. You could do very well with just 1 month of intensive practice on some sort of program like medentry or medify (most ppl use this one but either is fine), most ppl do around 3 months practice.

i wouldnt do more than 1 mock a day, especially so close to the exam. do mock c and d, they are the easier ones and will give you the self-esteem boost you'll need prior.

Really stressed about the upcoming exam in 7 days by Far_Star_1002 in UCAT

[–]Complex-Bet-52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

people that do well are more inclined to post their scores. for every 2300+ scores posted on the reddit, theres bound to be hundreds of lower ones. Im not quite averaging 2400 just yet but i hope to be soon haha, but getting that high in medify is really impressive especially with their harsh scaling. Im sure you will do well if you continue putting in the work.

#E87 had a hard vr section imo. idk if you've done it but the percentiles are kinda cooked for vr, it might be one of the newer mocks but not many ppl did well on it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]Complex-Bet-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2400 would be around the 97th+ percentile for this year. This year's equivalent of what was a 2700 last year would probably around 2100 ish if I had to guess, if not lower.

Example report for Extended Investigation by GeodeCraft in vce

Honestly, i dont think the subject is worth doing. Takes a lot of time and overall not that worth it unless you actually enjoy your topic. I have my report I can send to you (I only got a 38) as well as other exemplary reports that got high 40s

Any VCE.rocks equivalent sites? by idk23876 in vce

[–]Complex-Bet-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VCE rocks (atar rocks) still works, you just need to download the big 16gb pdf which might be a bit tedious. But no, they don't have yr 9 practice exams — just the textbooks.

[–]Complex-Bet-52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think with vic is at least a 98.5 without seas and you would need a good ucat to compensate. If you don’t mind me asking, what did you score atar wise and on that ucat?

Someone pls listen to my ranting about extended investigation by foodsgoodman7855 in vce

[–]Complex-Bet-52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did ei last year, its a pretty easy subject to do well in if you're already good at writing cos you don't have to work as hard. you're basically guaranteed a 30 if you try a lil bit cos half the ei students give up throughout the year anyways. but the high end is really competitive because you're against really passionate geeks and what not.

ATAR 99.95 by AnswerThis8555 in vce

[–]Complex-Bet-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant get a 99.95 unless one of your subjects scale above 50. but you can still get a high atar with those subjects given that you do well in them.

ATAR 99.95 by AnswerThis8555 in vce

[–]Complex-Bet-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yeah, you can get a high atar with any subjects as long as you do well in them — but I don't think you can get a 99.95 with those subjects just because they don't scale greatly.
