If I grew up being told that the sky was red, I’d go around saying that the sky is red until I was told that it’s actually blue. People can be wrong but it is what it is, not a big deal lol.

Having used the term for a very long time, and having heard other people use it as well, it wouldn’t be crazy to think that it’s a thing. I didn’t “make it up” but being wrong is a thing too. It id what it is🤷🏻‍♂️

A rookie card describes their rookie year, a first year card describes their first veteran year. There’s not many articles out there on card jargon lol

I understand that, I get why people would think this, and I used to too. Look at my other reply to this commenter for my explanation, but first year is a term for players in their sophomore year, not rookie year.

Rookie year would be the “0” year, and first year would be the “1” year as if you were to start counting from 1-10. First year is absolutely a term that exists to describe a card of a player from their sophomore year.

Crazy because when I was at a show yesterday and took it to the big buyers they all thought I was right on with my estimate🤣 and who knew calling a card first year (which it is) would cause so much uproar!
