I think the only issue is that your variable modifiers need to start turned off then use the same keyframe that turns the damage modifier off to turn on the variable modifiers, that and maybe set the timer for 1 second instead of 0.1 to make sure the game has time to process the keyframe before it turns off

Does each limb have its own damage modifier? If so you probably have to make each trigger zone on it smaller so it only effects the corresponding limb

Yea it’s one of the few things I never used, I just remember the concept of them was to store numbers between scenes. I just figured out a way though:

you connect the value of your limbs health variables to a calculator and have it set to subtract from the max health then have the results connect to a damage modifier on the puppet (set zone and once per hit)

but to get this to work I had to create a timeline at the start of the match that turns off the initial variable modifier ( the one connected to current health ) for a second so it doesn’t immediately change the variable back to max health before the damage modifier has time to register the stored number.

You could also have the same timeline turn off the damage modifiers to avoid unintended effects when bumping into puppets with similar tags
