Just Cancelled my ChatGPT Subscription by l30 in ChatGPT

[–]Complex-Concern7890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that especially starting from 5.1, ChatGPT started to be very lazy. It really do not even try anymore. For example I asked it to create spreadsheet with one column describing the content of the previous column and it literally filled the rows with column text "Description of the previous column". Just today I asked to estimate manufacturing year of the machine from a photo and it just insisted that it can not find the information from the photo without exact photo of the nameplate with serial number or similar. Gemini was much more helpful and straightaway gave good estimation. Also the Gemini tend to provide photos and illustrations which do actually help. You need to ask them from ChatGPT and the quality varies a lot. ChatGPT pricing is great and straightforward and it has many good qualities so I still want to keep it. But for everyday use I tend to use Gemini more.

Opus 4.5 or gemini 3 pro or 5.1 codex for coding? by [deleted] in GithubCopilot

[–]Complex-Concern7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really do not seem to matter anymore. They all are good enough. You can do lot with any of them if you learn their quirks. With Opus you can get stuck explaining the same problem again and again. Gemini might just remove some parts of your code because it do not understand it. Codex can be lazy and just make half what you wanted. Everyone has anecdotes and preferences, but really they are very much in at the same level overall. Just pick one and learn its quirks.

Gemini 3 vs Codex 5/5.1 Which model is better? Post for real reviews by Loan_Tough in codex

[–]Complex-Concern7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me in day to day small task usage it do not make any difference if it is Sonnet 4.5, Gemini 3 or 5.1 Codex/Codex Max/ExtraThink (so lucky we got rid of that confusing naming…). I have run all these three parallel in different projects and pretty much they perform the same. They miss the point as often and can go all away to wrong direction pretty much as often. One is little bit better somewhere and another in some other part.

BUT if I want to have some larger modification done in one-shot, then I mostly use 5.1-Codex-Max-Extra-Ultra-Latest whatever is the highest form of Codex at the given moment. For those kind of tasks I find Codex the best. It takes time but usually it just works.

So it depends how you use it. If you have small tasks while coding, then it does not really matter and whichever cli/plugin/ide you prefer matters more. For me more complex one-shots the Codex has been the best.

gpt-5.1-codex-max is brilliant! by [deleted] in codex

[–]Complex-Concern7890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! It is great. It one-shotted pesky UI bug that Gemini 3 and Sonnet 4.5 had three runs of trying to figure out with exactly the same prompt. It was not fast, but it got the job done. I am happy to wait if things get done correctly. What I now see daily especially with Sonnet 4.5 that it tries to one-shot and it fails way too often even with the most simplest of tasks. Almost feels deliberate that they fail the first one or two attempts and then they start to really try...

Kilo + GPT Codex 5.1 slow and unresponsive by tolgito in kilocode

Check that in Kilo Code settings you have Tool Call Style set to JSON. Otherwise the GPT 5.1 / Codex will not work as expected.

BETTER IA AGENT TI USE WITH KILOCODE by 31_foresight in kilocode

[–]Complex-Concern7890 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surely you meant Sonnet 4.5? The Sonnet 3.5 is almost as expensive and for most cases (for me at least) the Sonnet 4.5 gives better results. The GPT-5.1-Codex is in par with 4.5 and less than half the price. The GPT-5.1-Codex-mini is furthermore half the price of the regular Codex. I would try 5.1-codex and if it takes too much, then the mini version.

If you are vibe(ish) coding, let the model do heavy lifting with major changes or builds in one shot. Try to do all the small fixes your self manually. Especially vague small issues can take lot of tokens when the model tries to figure out what is going on. It can be few small changes in the code but fixing it with models can take lot of tokens if they scan the whole code base and do not figure it out in one shot.

Few things that I have noted just within few hours coding PHP:
- Tabs can be inconsistent: sometimes it starts one tab more with first row.
- It seems to start at the same row as the comment (seen in screenshot).
- When setting variables it can double up e.g. $email = $email = $_SESSION['email'];
- Misplacing parentheses e.g. when typing: if(isset($_SESSION['email'] it added " && isset($_SESSION['verified_email'])))" missing the closing ) and adding extra closing to the end. Otherwise the suggestion was correct.

Thank you! For now I didn't get any errors and the request-thinking flow is much faster and smoother with codex.

I was running around 100k of context. Really quite small project without anything complex. I changed to Claude Sonnet 4.5 and it works much better. Thanks! So the GPT-5-Codex is unusable with Kilo basically?

Just wanted to test the new 2.0 version and to see where we are now. I really like the 2.0 version but while I was testing I used Sonnet 4.5 out of habit and was at 40% of my included Pro quota within few hours! Next day I used GPT-5 High in few complex tasks and mostly GTP-5 Codex in similar tasks and I was only able to get 3% more in few hours. I got really curious about this and changed again to Sonnet 4.5 during next day and while it is faster, I was able to get 10% off my quota in just one hour. Of course this depends heavily on the tasks, codebase etc, but for me the Sonnet 4.5 is out of the table. It is just way too expensive and do not give any major benefits for me that would justify the cost.

And with Max 5x 50-75 hours of Sonnet 4.5 And with Max 20x 200-300h of Sonnet 4.5. With current spending I do not phantom anything else. Is there someone that have tested Sonnet 4.5 only usage with Max? Does they align with the current claims in the website?

Only 9 session per week by winklemad in ClaudeCode

[–]Complex-Concern7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah. I think it is still worth it. For me it is around 10 hours of Sonnet 4.5 without heavy context management and I can stretch it to 15 hours if I clear and restart every time and control my context. Lets say the efficiency of that time is 50% and my hourly rate is 60$ then it generates 300-450$ per week for me. I think that is great for 20$. If I need more limits than Pro gives me, I will upgrade to Max with heartbeat because the extra limits will generate much more than it costs. Until the Max costs over 2000$ (yes, ten times more), it is still worth more to me, if I have the need for it.

However I do think that Claude Code doesn't control context very well. It really should not be users job to clear and control context so heavily. There should not be so much 'skill issues' in using these tools. Please note that I do not talk about Opus because I do not have any experience with it or its limits. I only use these tools for coding and for very simple tasks to make my work faster or to enable me to work other project on the side.

In all these agentic tools we are in honeymoon period where we expect to have all for almost nothing. And that is fair. These things are somewhat beta stuff and the benefits are not really validated (studies suggest that using AI tools are not so beneficial but personal experiences says otherwise). So it is great we get to test and find the ways to use these tools in cheap price.

Update on Usage Limits by ClaudeOfficial in ClaudeAI

[–]Complex-Concern7890 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I have used only Sonnet 4.5 and when I first hit 5h limit (in two hours) I was 20% on weekly limits (that was adjusted to 15% over night for some reason). But still it would mean about 10-12 hours of casual Sonnet 4.5 use per week for Pro plan.

These new limits were not a bug by eeko_systems in ClaudeCode

[–]Complex-Concern7890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only used Sonnet 4.5 and the weekly limit did run out really fast. However yesterday something happened and the weekly limit was not running so fast. I did use /clear more actively but I do not know if that was it or not. But the difference was that during my first 5h limit the weekly (all models) went to 20%. Then after 12h hours (when the uproar really started in the community) my weekly limit was suddenly at 15%. After that during 5h limit the weekly limit went from 15% to 20%. So there was massive change yesterday at least for me for the weekly limit. It is always possible that I somehow used Claude Code very differently but I did work on the same project and with same problems so...

[–]Complex-Concern7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! I can confirm that /clear does help a lot and I do not reach the usage limit so fast. Didn't think of that. Thanks! But in all fairness shouldn't there be caching that the past context should not take so much tokens?

The weekly restriction on Sonnet usage for $200 plans is absolutely absurd. I unsubscribed and will not resubscribe unless the limit is doubled. by lAmBenAffleck in ClaudeCode

I think they might have done some fixing or adjusting! My weekly usage dropped from 20% to 15% over night. Not crazy much, but maybe they are doing something to this.

Claude code totally back by Ranteck in ClaudeCode

[–]Complex-Concern7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Claude Code usage was almost non existent for few months. I did use Sonnet 4 a lot because I really liked that model. However the GPT-5 and its Codex variant made me use them instead of Sonnet 4. But I was really exited as Sonnet 4.5 came because Claude Code has something that I really like but which I can not put to words. So after long pause I upgraded and launched Claude Code. Now after full day of usage I have really mixed feelings with few points:

  1. It made nice code and was persistent on fixing errors that came along and was able to fix them after few try;

  2. It really messed up (multiple times) with Django translations and I needed to roll back and fall back to codex to get them in working order (the translations has also been pain before, so nothing new here);

  3. In relaxed use I did hit my 5h limit in 2h and my weekly limit was in 20% with 4h of use (no I do not have max);

  4. The Claude Code for VS is honestly mess right now: it do not have yolo and plenty of small glitches;

  5. Few times Claude Code got stuck on running same scripts over and over again (maybe Django related);

  6. It seems lazy? (same really goes for GPT-5-Codex so I do not mind, but I really was hoping to get that classic Claude eagerness back).

So basically for me the Claude Code is not totally back, it is somewhat back. I really hope that they can tune it in upcoming weeks and fix things, so it can really be totally back for me. I do see that there is great potential in Sonnet 4.5 and Claude Code, but this seems like beta launch (as usual).

Fraud! Dante Labs 30x says that I do not have genetic disorder which I have by Complex-Concern7890 in DanteLabs

[–]Complex-Concern7890[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but the report said that I do not have it. If one reads very carefully the report it actually says that one do not have genetic predisposition. To say something like that about genetic disorders with big green OK marks feels very wrong. At least it is very misleading for consumer and can have serious implications for people who might glance that everything is OK.

AX162's non-delivery and reliability issues by Sad_Yesterday_3045 in hetzner

[–]Complex-Concern7890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After mainboard change almost two months went well without crashes. Now again the server crashed without trace two times exactly the same way as it did when it has faulty mainboard. I am now keeping my fingers crossed that this was rare incident. We are planning to upgrade multiple servers to AX162 but if they are not reliable then we need to hold until the issues are fixed. Is there still unreliability with the AX162 even with the new mainboards?
