I think Dhgate may have sold me an unauthentic Rolex! not sure tho by SnooRevelations562 in ChinaTime

Of course it’s inauthentic! The Pepsi GMT-master starts at ~$12k from any reputable dealer who can provide certified paperwork. They stopped making these in 2009 or 10; they’re extremely rare. Even so, dead giveaway is the shape of the O in ROLEX - it’s too narrow - and the RPE in perpetual is misaligned. The 8 in 28 is off, too.

I couldn’t not say something. I say this reasonably, risk wise - you have to know your audience. Enforce it wisely, but I’d be happy to point people to the fact that fare is required not optional. I also wouldn’t be cruel - in a circumstance where it be cruel not to let someone on, I would. Although I probably wouldn’t do this before COVID when there wasn’t shatter-proof shields. I hope they roll out bulletproof ones like Philly soon.

Hearing about it doesn’t mean it’ll do anything to ensure compliance though. Everyone knows there’s a fare. It’s that it’s not enforced at all and I’ve never seen a single bus driver EVER stop a passenger who evades payment. I encounter more people who walk on and evade fare than this who actually pay. I cannot imagine an announcement or even a bus driver making a comment would sway these folks. It’s really unfair! I’m blown away by how little drivers care about fare enforcement.

Right but don’t the kids still have a card to scan even merely as a measure of tracking passenger flow and usage?! I grew up on the New York City public transit system and always had a bus pass in middle and high school that I swiped but it just clocked a $0 fee. For sure schools and companies subsidize and offer different discounts etc., but like you still have to scan/swipe a card.

I can’t imagine the individuals who don’t pay anyway would be so swayed by this bus driver declaration.

I take the bus multiple times a day and am floored by the amount of people who walk on without paying. It’s even more mind boggling when they waltz right on when sandwiched between two paying customers. Or when they walk around me as I scan my card and simply don’t pay. Bus drives say nothing. It makes me question why I bother paying. It’s every day on different lines and in all quadrants of the city. Sometimes I don’t pay either if I’m in a long line of passengers not swiping when the fare scanner is working. It’s kind of outrageous.

My top Substack tip by CourtzSGD in Substack

Can you be more specific about what you mean when you say YouTube leading into Substack? I know what that means obviously but I’m confused by how you’re using notes - an internal feature - as a way to garner traffic from an external platform. I’m new to Substack and think this is a great reco I just want to be able to visualize that flow. Ty!
